    Happy to join the forum

    Hi!

I’ve been reading a lot of your posts for a couple of weeks now. I finally decided to register.

We’re going to Aruba, my husband and I, on January 26th for a week. We visited for a day while on a cruise almost 10 years ago. We went horseback riding and spent a couple of hours on the beach. So we didn’t see much. After reading some of your Aruba stories, I can’t wait to be there and enjoy the beach, the crystal clear water, the adventures and the RESTAURANTS.

From what I read, I think I will do the reservations soon for our dinners. The only thing is that we have too many choices! I told my husband we should have read about the restaurants before booking our flight, so we would have stayed 2 weeks!

welcome to the aruba.com community forum!
too many restaurants, not enough nights!

January is a busy time, so you are wise in making your reservations instead of chancing it.

    again, welcome!

We have friends who went to Aruba last summer for a week. As soon as they got home, they booked for 2 weeks next July. They’ve been pretty convincing about the happy island being paradise.

I started to read a little about the destination and it didn’t take too long to make up our minds and start planning our trip.

After years of cruising, maybe Aruba will become our new winter escape. (Short escape ‘till the retirement!)

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

Good morning Luv2travel, and everyone else,

Welcome to the forum. You'll find some of the friendliest and most helpful people right here.

Andrea's comment about January being a busy time and her suggestion to make dinner reservations to avoid disappointment are absolutely spot on.

Aruba has one of the liveliest dining scenes in the Caribbean. You will find so many different kinds of restaurants with cuisines from all over the world. Don't worry about not having enough time to enjoy all the available choices. That's a good reason to book your next trip. My wife and I have been going to Aruba for week-long stays for a long time. We always try to hit some of our long-time favourites, and try new discoveries.

By way of background, I have been going to Aruba on and off since 1980. While the island has undergone many changes since then, all the things which make Aruba, well Aruba, are still there in abundance; it is safe, stable, with great weather, fantastic beaches, wonderful people (both Aruban and visitors alike), and great
shopping, bars and restaurants. If you still have money left over at the end of the day, there are over a dozen casinos.

    Have fun and enjoy.
