Monday 12/16 woke up around 730am. Headed down around 930am. Ate breakfast at Islander grill. They had a croissant breakfast sandwich for $5 so I said why not something quick and easy. Afterwards headed for the beach and was surprised at the crowds. There was 1 cabana at the entrance by the oasis bar. There were 4 more towards the other end in the back. I told the chair guy, man there are some early risers. He said yea they come down at 4am. Get a life! I did see someone with a pad taking inventory and removing towels from a hut. So the couple in front of me upgraded from coach to business class.

The beach was awesome. Once I get in its hard to get out. A reminder why I come here. I called it a day at 1pm and had left over pizza in the room then took a nap. When I woke from my nap I had really bad back and hip pain. I had plans to have dinner at Twist of Flavor but felt really bad. So at 4pm I walked over hunch back and limping to Pata Pata bar for happy hour. I had 6 drinks, relaxed a lot. Then I had dinner at Islander Grill a Cabana Burger and a balashi. Pretty good burger but nothing to brag about. The burger I had at Aruba Phoenix last December at Pure Beach Bar was awesome. I've yet to try Local Store and Alfies. I went to bed at 900pm.

Tuesday 12/17. Woke up very sore around 7am! I had a hard time sleeping during the night. I sleep on my back because I can't sleep on the side my favorite on account of the hip issues. Still I guess with the soft mattress I twist a little towards hip and the pain come on. I did the stretches I was taught at PT and it losses me up. I hobbled hunch back and limping to the lobby to get coffee and sandwich. Got the newspaper as well. Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony.

I headed for the pool at 1030am limping with really bad back pain. I rested along the way walking and I took 2 Tylenol Arthritis 650mg each. No rum punch but my water bottle filled with Aruba tap. I needed to hydrate plus took the tylenol. It was kind of windy today. The water very cold. The Jacuzzi very hot! I alternated a few time between the pool and hit jacuzzi. By the time I left the pool, I was walking upright again and pain, limping was minimum. I know the 2 Tylenol helped but I believe the hot Jacuzzi helped the most. In Dec 2018 I had tightness in my bum when I wakked, back pain. I never took anything but the room at Aruba Phoenix had a Jacuzzi which I used every day with hot water and it loosened me up. Works for me! I ate lunch at the pata pata bar. I had a nice turkey club with fries. Very filling sandwich. Oh and the drink of the day just one. It was rum with amaretto and apricot brandy, orange juice. Back to the room at 2pm walking a little better but stopped to rest by elevator. Took a nap around 3pm until 5 pm.

Dinner was at Bavaria. Had a great meal 2 German Beers, pretzel with sauce and the Jaeger schnitzel pork with a great mushroom sauce. Dessert their black forest cake which was good and very lite. I prefer the Apple Strudels with ice cream but the forest cake was a lighter choice and I was full...Peter said the Thai chef left 3 weeks ago so no more Thai food. I've never had it. The owners Peter and Simon really make you feel welcome and are always willing to accommodate or make things right. I got up to use the rest room and when I came back the waitress cleaned up my table. I said I was done eating but I had a half pint of beer I was looking to drink with dessert which she got rid of. Simon said no worries and bought me a full fresh pint. Total bill was like $48 really cheap. I feel like the guy in this show in NY Good eats for $9.99. LOL. It's a good show and they show you free places to visit in weekend or under $10.

After Bavaria I did the unthinkable. I hit the Glitz Casino. Not much of a gambler and I always went on account of miss daisy and the free drinks. I said a limit to play $40 and call it a night. After the $40 was gone I used a technique Ms Daisy always used. Instead of inserting another $20 she would put in $5 or $10 at a time to see if slot machine improves. I put another $10 so I was out $50 and was going to walk out. I put in another $10 ended up playing long with that $10, got up to $20 and then my luck started to change winning multiple free 8 spins, wheel spins etc. I ended up cashing out $90 so won my $60 back and $30 more. Waitress got me a coffee with cream and coffee liqoure and I was happy.

Back to room in a good mood, feeling better no pain or limping so decided to add to my review. It's around 11pm and will hit the sack after my night cap.

Today was a great day and I'm greatful...

so sorry to hear that pain has been an issue.
try some walking in the pool...lots of walking.

glad to read that you had a good meal at Bavaria.
we love that place and Paul was very disappointed that they no longer have a Thai menu.
we have always been too full to have dessert, but we did bring some Black Forest cake back with us.
    we had it for breakfast.

take it easy and thanks for posting.

I wonder if getting a massage would help you. Tom has back and leg issues and he gets a massage when we stay at Manchebo. It seems to help him tremendously. He goes for a deep tissue massage.

I'm so sad that Bavaria no longer has Thai food. We would order it at least once or twice every trip and was one of our favorite meals. Glad you're feeling a bit better and the casino was kind. Thanks for taking time to post.
