Lazy Day number 5. Time is flying bye BUT I still have 2 more lazy days to go plus flying back mint. Speaking of mint, 2 ladies that flew mint with me and sat in back of me are also staying at La cabana. They said the can never go back to regular. Neither can I but they don't offer it on all flights.

Woke up early 600am. I made it to the gym! Worked out 30 minutes on treadmill and also weighed in. Don't ask!! LOL Lucky for me I lost 7.5 pounds before the trip. I wish I had lost more though.

Breakfast was take out coffee and ham n egg croissant from cinnabon. I have a ground floor room with back entrance to the pool. While balcony are nice, I hate elevators. So I ate my breakfast at the patio table while reading morning news paper. There was a sign that you can now download the paper which the paper version is limited and I guess will be obsolete soon.

Got to the beach at 830a. I tell you those Palapa hoggers must sleep there or something. I secured a Palapa in the back near entrance which was fine. After 45 minutes of drinking my Powerade captain Morgan punch,I took a 1 hour nap on lounger. Afterwards spent 1.5 hours in the water. I had lunch at the bar a burger which was just ok and 2 drinks.
I was back in room bye 2pm,showered and took my 2 hour nap. I'm getting good at napping.

Dinner was at MJs. Got there at 6:15pm. I had the creame of asparagus soup which was awesome. Sorry I could not say the same for the almond grouper. It was just ok. I had 2 Manhattan's which were kind of watered down. A bus boy asked me how was the meal. I asked him, was that real grouper? He said ah I dunno what you think? I did like Larry David ahhh. He said probably not, think about it everybody has it in their menu and there isn't a lot of it here in the water. He was the bus boy for the drinks so he doesn't work in the kitchen. The other bus boy who cleared the plates said it was real grouper and I looked at his eyes like Larry David in curb and said ok. The waitress never asked how was the meal. She just asked if I wanted to see a dessert menu which I declined. The person who got me the cab asked how was your meal sir. Again did my Larry David bit and said ang almond grouper. He said sorry to hear that. I asked is that real grouper? He just smiled. I will pass on MJ next trip. The reviews on trip advisor have gotten worst. Maybe go back to Quinta De Carmen or Yemanja.

When I got back to lacabana, I took a walk to Asi Es Mi Peru and ordered a grouper dinner there. Just kidding!!! I went for their home made ice cream. They have a nice deck were you can sit and have ice cream, order a soda maybe beer not sure. Really neat and a nice breeze out tonight. I ordered a scoup of coconut ice cream and a scoup of peanut butter ice cream. Really good!

That concludes my lazy day and 2 more to go. Ahhh sleepy time.. No casino it was pretty dead at Glitz...

Ace, thank you so much for your detailed reports. So glad you had a Happy Birthday!.. We too had a similar experience at MJ's. We love love Asian and have loved going to Azia which is an easy walk from the Ocean Club. I love your Nap strategy! ..It is key for Aruba. Thank you so much for your honest opinions as it helps all of us as we decide how to best spend our time. Hope you have a great remainder of your trip! The Lobster in your earlier posts looked amazing!

Sad to hear the negatives on MJ. Like you I’ve seen more negative reviews lately. If you’re looking for a good filet mignon though I can highly recommend the Chophouse at Manchebo.

I had a great dining experience at Azia when I was staying in the high rise area back in Dec. I will put them on my list for next trip. Thx

Andrea, I've read comments from past regular dinners that some dishes like Almond Grouper, wrack of lamb were not as great as the past. Even if it was real grouper, it was dry, no flavor, bland with a lot of the flour coating. I won't write anything negative on trip advisor but will skip them for the next visit.
