Day 7. I don't believe it but I have the going home blues. My niece email me asking what time does my flight arrive because she wants to visit for the long weekend. I replied, not coming back!

I ate breakfast this morning at La cabana Islander Grill... I had an omlette that was so big and filling! Skipped lunch today! Hit the beach at 10am and there were 25 available palapas. Some Palapa hoggers checked out today. One of the Managers of Amsterdam Manor mentioned people going down at 4am or going there straight from casino. That's crazy!!! I broke my record 2 hours and 15 minutes straight in the water. Well it was my last beach day and a beautiful day.

I got to room at 2pm, no naps as I'm fully rested. I met Bri for happy hour and had a good time. I had dinner reservations at Matthews but was thinking maybe back to La terrazza, maybe Tulip. I wasn't too hungry so after Bri left I stood hanging out at the bar and just ordered finger food which is unlike me. But it was too convenient to order another drink, app and just walk back to room to pack. Well I could not start packing so I'm staying!! LOL.

Tomorrow I have a 249Pm flight so I will probably leave here at 11am. I am well rested and had a great trip. I will wrap up my trip report probably Sunday morning since I will get home 10pm

    Well I'm back home!

I was at airport today at 1130am for a 2:49pm flight. By the time I got to the gate 1pm, it was 1 hour before boarding. I said hello to my friend Alex at One Happy bar who also DJs at the Renaissance Pool and kept walking towards gate. I was tired and no time for a drink since gate was all the way towards the end. Those lines at customs were long! Only 2 agents working. That's insane! Talk about cut backs! I have to get that global entry pass. Hardly anybody utilizing it.

Jet Blue mint awesome as always. A drink prior to take off, a nice meal, more drinks, going I saw a Star Is Born coming back Rogue One. The seats are comfortable that turn into beds but again I stood awake. Landed at 7pm was home by 830pm. Ms Daisy was happy to see me and my niece was there staying for the weekend.

The mishap of my trip which I did not mention was that I forgot the combination on the safe one evening before dinner. I was panicking because that happened to me at MVC last year and they had to get someone to unscrew the safe for an hour. La Cabana is more modern than that. They sent someone in 5 minutes and he opened it in 2 minutes with a device he attached and entered a code. I was relived, gave the guy a few bucks and he was happy. Another mishap was that the day I dined at MJs, I had a reservation for Gostoso. The day I went to Gostoso, I had a reservation at Mjs. When I got to Gostoso they told me, hey you were supposed to be here yesterday. When I got back to resort, I looked at my itenery and saw the mix up..

What I enjoyed about La Cabana the most? There were a lot of people that did get togethers ever night and utilized the grill and cooked everything from chicken, ribs, hot dogs, steak and burgers. I was happy to see that people use those amenities.

What i hate the most? The Palapa hoggers which is ridiculous to expect the same palapa for all 7 days of your trip but it's the same situation everywhere. At Aruba Phoenix if you were not down by 8am, no palapa. At La cabana, at 11am you can still find around 6 palapas but all the way in the back which is ok with me.

New restaurant, Asi Es Mi Peru. Wonderful staff, good food. It can be pricey and they try to upsell with the meals for 2 which are like $66.00 and enough food for 3. I saw a lot of couples with left over food. Shrimp ceviche $17. It can really add up. The shrimp Ceviche was very good but I could have done with 1/2. It came with like 12 to 15 shrimps so perfect for sharing. Dessert also for sharing. Love that outside ice cream deck which you can just come bye for dessert and catch a night breeze.

Happy Hour. I rarely go because I'm usually buzzed from my morning, afternoon rum punch. However, I drank light one day and got to go to Amsterdam Manor. Actually, Amy explained to me that I stumbled on to their Thursday Manager's party. This is why the drinks were $1.50 and I got to have all that free finger food like the kabobs, dutch meatballs etc. The bartender makes some great drinks which Amy always mentioned. I asked a bartender at La Cabana for a dark n stormy and he was like, wats that? Well it was on the menu at Amsterdam. So you can get fancy well made drinks at Amsterdam but at La Cabana its just pina coladas, daqaries and simple drinks. Which is ok but if you want something more fancy then Amsterdam is it and Peter the bartender makes a mean Mai Tai and I'm sure other drinks too.

    Well that's my trip recaps!

    Until next trip!

Thanks for taking us along. You daily reports helped me immensely this week as I tried to come down from my Aruba high and transition back to reality.

I just love JetBlue’s Mint option but won’t book it unless I can get a good sales price. You certainly arrive at your destination relaxed and refreshed though. Thanks for the trip reports!

Thanks for your trip report. I'm glad you had a good flight.

The mix up made me laugh. I was supposed to met a friend at their house today and went there. My friend thought we were meeting at my house and came here. It happens.
