Day 6 Thursday

Woke up feeling better and walking better. Recovered fast! There is hope..My Orthopedic did not believe me when I told him I can walk up to a half mile. He said, I doubt that from what I,m seeing on xrays but if you can, that is great. I can but then I'm in pain the next day like when I walked to La Terrazza or last trip I walked from plane to baggage claim and next 2 days, pain...But I've been improving. Eventually I will need hip surgery. A few friends of mine had the surgery and got their life back and are doing very well. I just need to lose the pounds to qualify for surgery.

Breakfast at islanders grill pancakes and eggs,coffee. Hung out at pool from 10a.m to 2:30pm. I made up for yesterday's booze free day. Well I had to drink up my duty free Captain Morgan's which I only paid $15. It was$18.50 but the wheel chair guy went to buy It for me and they charged him $15. He was very nice. Dropped me off bathroom, duty free, picked up luggage, jumped the taxi line, loaded my luggage and all. I missed mentioning that on day 1. Gave him a nice tip which he was not expecting. They are very humble people and appreciate our visit.

Dinner was at MJ. My waitress and assist from last trip remembered me. Even though they were not my waiters this time, they came around to make sure all was well. I had the Korean Spring Rolls which were great. I saved one for lunch tomorrow but ate 2. I had the lobster roll which was huge and comes with a nice salad and French fries. I sub for augratin potatoes. I ate half the lobster roll and saved the rest for lunch tomorrow. I had a Manhattan for drink. One thing for sure they have great bartenders at MJ. For dessert an Espresso Martini. Then my former waiter bought me one. When I got the bill, they did not charge me for any of the espresso Martinis and they are $15 each. I'm a good tipper but they take very good care of me. I was even 20 minutes late and no problem while they made others wait...

Tomorrow last day allready. I'm looking forward to see Andrea and Paul, Bradster but not laundry and packing. Good night!

Sounds like a great day. How good was the lobster roll at MJs? We’ve learned not to order apps there. Portions are usually generous. As Andrea asked how is the lobster roll prepared? Must be a lot of lobster!

Day 7 The End of the road...

Woke up at 7am, did laundry. I was going to pack and at 9am cleaning lady was in my room when I went to pick up laundry. It was full service day too. Grrrr. However, she did a great job! Around 9am I got hungry so I ate the left over lobster roll with the salad. I was at pool around 1105am, met up with Andrea. Around 1pm headed towards pool bar. Met up with Andrea and hubby and Brad. We had a nice get together, some stories and laughs. I highly recommend when multiple forum members are in Aruba to reach out and get together even if it's for an hour, 30 minutes.

I had dinner at Las Rambles at La Cabana. It's outdoors and grilled entries. They have a $38 menu special soup or salad, catch of the day which was Mahi mahi, seafood paella or 12oz NY Strip and carrott cake for dessert. I went there for the New Zealand Lamb chops which were great. Had bacon wrapped scallops for app which was good but only 2 pieces and more bacon than scallops. I think I will pass on that next time. I had 2 mojitos and called it a night.

Now I'm drinking the last 5oz of my duty free Captain Morgan black and writing report without issues since I'm outside room. I should have done that other nights but humidity was high, mosquitos,flies etc.I

Overall the trip was very restful. I loved the comfy matress, the weather including 2 rain days, the rest I dinned at, the pool,beach, being able to walk around more pain free except for that one day but I've had a lot worst previous trips so I'm grateful. Lastly enjoyed getting together with forum members..

I have a 2:15pm flight to NY tomorrow so I will call it a day once I finish my drink. Good Night!

PS I had a home covid test kit with me and tested negative this morning knock on wood..
