I checked out at 10:15 am yesterday from my resort. Grabbed a cab and was at airport by 10:45am. My flight was scheduled to leave at 3:15pm. The airport was very busy! Long lines at Jet Blue Counter. Lucky for me I was flying Mint so just went up to counter. I waited 10 minutes for a wheel chair attendant and off we went. Long lines at Immigration but we zipped on through. At US Customs for the first time in my travels, my luggage was not there. My attendant was driving me nuts asking, is it this luggage? how about this one etc?. After 15 minutes my luggage came down the shoot. I used the Global Entry and straight to a Custom Agent. There were lines forming there and it was only 11:20am. Saturday's are very busy! Once we cleared US security I asked the attendant to take me to VIP Lounge. My gate was 5 but she took me to the VIP Lounge at Gate 8.

The lounge was not too busy at 11:30am when I got there and they offered me a seat in VIP Room. The food was good sandwiches, wings, pigs n blanket, nuggets, soup, muffins etc. I had 1 Gin N Tonic which I did not enjoy too much. I don't like tonic water! However, I was able to pace myself. Afterwards I switched to wine and since my flight was delayed until 3:45pm, I ended up having 4 wines. I was in the lounge from 11:30am to 2:45pm.

I got to my gate at 3pm. We did not board until 3:45pm and plane did not take off until 4:20pm I didn't arrive in NY until 8:40pm and original flight I was to land at 7pm. There were 30 passengers who had connecting flights so they asked us to remain seated so those passengers could get off and try to make it to their gate for their connecting flights. Some only had as little as 10 minutes to make it. Luggage took 40 minutes, Uber took 15 minutes. I was basically home at 10pm. I was exhausted!

In summary, I left resort room around 10am and got home around 10pm a 12 hour long travel day.

However, I did have a very restful trip.

Until next time which probably won't be until June 2023. I actually will be retiring from my job May 31st 2023 after 37 1/2 years of service so at that point, I can go to Aruba at any time or stay longer...

This concludes my boring trip! :>)

your "boring trip" was not boring to you!!
    that is what matters.

it was indeed a long day!

I was pleasantly surprised but the additional food choices in the lounge.
the chicken wings and shrimp were not especially terrible, not great though...but way better than the sandwiches

ahh retirement! may 31!! wonderful news
THINK.. is it Thoughtful? Helpful? Inspirational? Necessary? Kind? sidtm
