    May 11, 2021. Tuesday

We awoke early as we had to be at the dentist for our 8 am appointments.
All well and xrays, exam and cleanings…….out the door and on the way to Reflexions by 9am.

Reflexions was relatively busy, but not busy like when cruise ship passengers are there…and even then it is not packed. There were probably 12 couples or families there.
We spent much time in the water and hiding from the sun.
We did have lunch there and mine was just ok……I had the grilled chicken panini…….so garlicky, that I could only take a few bites. Paul had an awesome cheeseburger of which I had a few bites. Ice cold beer and diet cokes too.

We came back to LaCabana and watched our grandsons play teeball via facetime.
We hung around here, had a drink and decided to hit up the container place for dinner.

The Bochincha Container Yard place is located across from the Citgo station and set back behind the flea market area. We parked in the DIMAS lot and the place was easy access.
We walked around a bit. Downloaded their menus and decided on pizza.
The pizza was delicious, the beer ice cold. It was loud and interesting. We liked it a lot.
Very relaxed and it is very much locals, but they do want tourist’s business.
If you expect fine dining or are wanting a nice quiet romantic place, this is not the place for you.
See the photos at my google link signature line.

    Alhambra casino was cruel.
$100 in the machine and gone in about 25 min.

I have a feeling that Container Yard is going to be very popular. That photo of the tattoo barber shop was interesting!

Pam and I thought about visiting the tattoo parlor, but the loss of beach time in the water held us back.

It's the place for you and Tom to get matching tats during your next visit!

I thought about getting a small shamrock right under the kitty cat on the inside of my arm. I think dear husband would object, so that would make it all the more interesting.

    May 12 Wednesday

Today was a slow boring day by many people’s standards, but it was just right for us.

We are finding that there is good selection of chairs/lounges/shade poolside up til at least 10 am. But we still go out at about 8 to get “the one we like best.”

We had breakfast at the Islander Grill and for $8 each a very hearty (and heavy ) breakfast.
It includes coffee, 2 eggs any style, (but not poached which is my favorite) 2 slices of toast, 2 slices of bacon, 2 breakfast sausage links, 2 hash brown potato wedges, OJ and coffee.
It is the best deal in town, or at least at LaCabana.
I was stuffed and uncomfortable most of the day from eating such a big breakfast.

We jumped into the ocean for a bit and then settled in back at umbrella table #3 til about 3 pm. We did spend much time in the pool and hiding from the sun under the umbrella.
    The winds were very plentiful.

Dinner was leftovers……..i opted for a bagel while Paul polished off a smorgasbord of chicken, salad, steak. I just could not eat leftovers tonight L
I do wish that I had brought a frozen meatloaf or chili with us.

The Alhambra was a bit kinder tonight and we left almost even.

I said to Paul earlier that I was missing Lily (our 16 mo old dog) and he said “Lily who?”

Word from home is that there was no gas at some of our gas stations today and that the repair work on our pool is going better than anticipated and the pool should be reopened by early next week.

I am seriously thinking of a small green shamrock tat.
Who wants to come with me on Wed and hold my hand?

If I were there I'd do matching tattoos with you in a NY minute! I got matching tattoos with my daughter when she turned 18...and with 2 of my nieces when they turned 18 too! Flowers etc.... no skulls or daggers!

I do! Only, I am not there. Let me know how your experience is. I may do something similar when I am there in October.

Is the Alhambra still serving drinks? Someone suggested they might not be because of Covid. Thanks!
