Thursday started out slow. We just had yogurt and fruit in our room. We got our usual palapa, Victor takes good care of us. Checked in with a few friends at home via text and email. We went to Pega Pega around 1pm for lunch. Wow, about 10 minutes later we had a heavy shower! I told Bob not to worry the sun would be out in minutes and it was. Bob has been enjoying the Brights in your honor Chuck! He’s thinking about smuggling a few in his suitcase! Dinner was at LePetit Cafe. It was yummy. Trying to decide where to go today. We might explore since we have the car. We’ll see!

Just a simple nice day... thanks for sharing it. I haven't met Victor yet. Is Stephen still doing beach duty...or is he another one promoted like Joseul....? Thanks for honoring me with Brights.... I can do my own in a couple of weeks!

    FRIDAY
We decided to eat light for breakfast since we were going out. I checked out the coffee bar at Ike’s. I got 2 coffees and a blueberry muffin. We had yogurt and fruit in the fridge so all was good. We’re not big breakfast eaters at home except on the weekend (then it’s home fries, omelettes, bacon and fruit). We decided to go to the donkey sanctuary. I drove with Bob doing the navigating. OMG, so many circles to literally to go around! Some were busier than others but we survived. I brought 3 bags of baby carrots which they loved. I got swarmed by a group of them! Bob got kicked by one as he was taking pictures. I told him the donkey mistook his skinny legs for another donkey. He didn’t agree with me but I thought it was funny! We stopped at Super Foods for a few things and then headed back to Manchebo. We sat on the beach at our usual palapa and then had a late lunch at Pega Pega. No sunset tonight as there were too many clouds. We opted for wine, cheese and crackers for our dinner, we were too full from lunch. We came inside so we could listen to the Yankee game on the Sirius app. Bob turned on the TV and the game was on ESPN. Win for us and the Yankees (I’ve been a fan since I saw my first game age 14). Sipped some Bailey’s then off to bed. That’s all for now!

I am glad that Bob was OK after the kick.
I was kicked many years ago and wound up with a broken clavicle.

    Aren't those rotaries fun/scary!

    Enjoy.

    SATURDAY
Today was going to be a lazy day, but aren’t they all! I went for a walk on the beach and then got our usual palapa. We had breakfast at Ike’s and then got ready to hit the beach. I packed cheese and crackers and fruit and water in the cooler. Love the cooler Manchebo provides each room. They set up for a wedding on the beach but we didn’t get to see it. I love to jump in the pool for a bit before going back to the room. We decided on Casa Tua for dinner. We split a Caesar salad and pizza. So yummy! We both had 2 glasses of sangria to wash it down. We walked over to Gelatissmo for gelato. We were back in the room to see most of the Avalanche/Lightning game.

Right now I’m sitting on our patio with a cup of Twining’s Lemon tea deciding what to do today. This morning we might go back to the Butterfly Farm and then check out the bird sanctuary. We go birding at home (I’m more of a novice) so Bob bought his binoculars. Then maybe drive up to the lighthouse. I love having a car to explore! I let you know where we end up!

    Enjoy!

    Aruba's birds are wonderful.
There are lots of Trupials in the trees where we are staying.

Does the Butterfly Farm still allow a free entry after your paid visit? I think it used to be good for a week.

Manchebo always does it right. The cooler is such a small thing but it’s really nice to have. It doesn’t sound like much has changed since the new owners took over. Enjoy your exploration day!

Yes, we have a card to go back. I love that they give you a small tour and answer any questions you have.
