TUESDAY
We had yogurt and fruit this morning as we were heading to Baby Beach. Wow, I should have counted the circles! There were lots! It was cloudy and we could see dark clouds in the distance. We stayed about an hour. I love the water here, so shallow and easy in and out. We drove thru San Nicholas and Saveneta. I remember a few years ago seeing murals but the few we saw were peeling and I guess some painted over.
When we got back to Manchebo we packed cheese and crackers for the beach. I made myself Tito’s and lemonade in my insulated mug. Only a few more days to finish the bottle.
Since they are picking up the car tomorrow, we decided to go to The Local Store for dinner. We split a Caesar salad and we each got cheese burgers with fries. Their burgers are so good! Bob had a Bright and I had a Blue Hawaiian. We checked out the Citgo station so could fill the car up. It was all self service and crowded. I remembered a gas station on the road behind Super Foods, lots of cars there too and it looked all self service. We watched what others did then it was our turn. In Jersey you can’t pump your own and I’ve never pumped gas. Bob grew up in Mass. so he’s a pro. Finally I made him go inside and tell the guy he wanted to fill it up. After that all was good, 72 florins ($42 about). Bob went in paid then we were on our way. That week went fast with the car. I’ll check the mileage tomorrow to see how much driving we did.
Our room here is next to the washer/dryer and I’m an early riser (6am) so I’m going to do a load of laundry. I’d rather bring home mostly clean clothes.
Sitting on the patio again with our Bailey’s. Seeing a pattern here? Till tomorrow.
You are correct, no computers in the guest lounge. I forgot on our way out, but checked on our way back.
I think you asked about a Stephen that was doing towel service on the beach. We had Victor every day except on Sunday. On Sunday it was William. Maybe Stephen has moved up.
WEDNESDAY
I woke up at 5:45am so I decided to do a load of laundry. It’s right around the corner from our room so that’s easy. Came back and had a cup of tea. I love that Manchebo has electric kettles in the room. I love my coffee too, but when you brew hot water in a coffee maker your tea still has a coffee taste. We had yogurt and fruit in the room since the car was getting picked up early. We loved having a car and would definitely do it again.
We got on the beach around 11am. We get the same palapa and Victor takes good care of us. Such a sweetheart! Lunch was at the Pega Pega. We had our usual, chicken tenders, fries and a salad. I had my Nutty Monkey and Bob a few Amstel Brights (in honor of Chuck ).
After showers we headed down to the Divi Tam to see Gaby ( Aruba Hands jewelry ). We saw her last week and I ordered a few pieces. I just love the things she make and she is just a lovely person. Bob wears no jewelry except wedding band and watch. He told me he liked the Aruba flag bracelet. I contacted Gaby secretly to make him one. He was so surprised! We said our goodbyes and headed over to Elliott’s for dinner. Our meals were excellent! I did the tour of Italy and Bob had pasta fagioli and a tortellini dish with spinach. We washed them down with a nice Pinot Grigio. We would definitely go back.
We walked back and watched the hockey game and listened to the Yankees on Sirius. Another great day in Aruba! One full day left.
