Good morning Aruba Addicts! We arrived in Aruba yesterday afternoon. Our last visit was 18 months ago, which seemed like an eternity. We were fortunate to make it to Aruba in 2020. We were here for 3 weeks that February, went home without a care in the world, and just a few weeks after we got home, the world turned upside down. We waited to travel again until we were fully vaccinated, and returned in June 2021. We ended up skipping 2022 because the case numbers on the island were very high, and we didn't want to risk spending our vacation in isolation. So, we were very excited to come back this year.
Our travel day went very smoothly. Bully met us in the airport, and we caught up on the news of our families during the ride to the resort. We are staying at Aruba Beach Club, which is new for us. It has just been renovated and looks beautiful. We are in an oceanfront 1 bedroom until Saturday, when we move to another unit that I rented from an owner.
After we checked in and did a little unpacking, we went to happy hour for a couple of hours, and then sat on the beach until sunset. We then walked over to Pizza Bob's for our traditional first night pizza. We crashed early because we had only gotten a few hours of sleep the night before.
Tom woke up at 4:30 and decided to go get a palapa. He was surprised to see that most of the front row was already taken. Afterwards, we got coffee and muffins at Santos, and we are enjoying the beautiful views on our balcony as I type. The only plans for the day are beach, happy hour, and dinner.
