I understand the frustration with connecting flights. Our flight home in April left Aruba late and we barely had time to use the restroom and get a cold drink before boarding the next flight, then we discovered our luggage was not on the flight.

Been there, done that. I've lost count of the number of canceled flights or missed connections that we've had on various trips. A few years ago, it took us 20 hours to get home from San Francisco. We were actually on the flight, getting ready for takeoff, when the pilot announced that the flight was getting canceled, due to an issue with the cargo door. When we finally did make it home,
our luggage didn't for a few days.

    Which airline did you travel?

On my recent May trip the lines were outside for American, Southwest and another airline. Jet blue you could walk in but lines were very long. I think Delta had the smallest line.

We were on American. Jet Blue lines looked just as bad. It doesn't help that our flight is always one of the last of the day, so all of the lines are backed up.

Our choices from Richmond are similar. We can go north and a few other places west. We are seriously considering spending the night on the way back.

We enjoyed your trip reports very much. Hope to see you again nexy year.

I've been watching flights for February and they are seriously expensive. We're still trying to find a place to stay for our second week, and people are really jacking up prices on rentals, also. We've had no luck, so far. I hope that we will get to see you then!

I've been checking flights too..... glad we booked when we did. We'd be about 500 pp more now!
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!

We are hoping United comes down. It is the best Aruba flight for us out of Newark. They are tricky, sometimes they show many seats as not available. Then when open seats sell out at high price , magically more open up.
    Hmmmm
