I believe we had a good amount of ran during the night. I heard it off and on during the wee hours. But at 7 am the sun was shining and there was a bit of a breeze.

A weird day! Very unlike Aruba for me.
We headed to the pool early and threw some laundry in the machines and got a table and chairs in a good location.
Hung with our new “BFF” oy vay and then ran to Noord Bakery while stuff was in the dryer.
Paul swears by their apple turnovers and I like their sticky buns. Paul picked up a few pieces of pound cake for his new BFF now known as the Lacabana wife. (envision stinkeye)

We squeezed in a trip to SuperFood and I ran in and got some chicken skewers and 2 potatoes. I picked up a few things for a Christmas swap that our happy hour group is doing next Friday. (Douwe Egbert coffee, stroopwaffels ..that are now in freezer, and some dutch chocolate bars). Will package these things into 2 gifts. I saw 2 forum members there and said hello.

We spent an hour in the pool and I just could not get out of my own way. I was exhausted.
Not sleeping well here because Paul is freezing in the room and has boosted the airco up to 74 and I cannot sleep at 74…I need it minimum of 71. He freezes and I am a furnace.
At about 1 pm, I decided “to Hell with this. I am going to bed.” Paul remained with his ….shall I call her his “laCabana wife?”
I crawled under the covers at 1:30 and at 6 Paul tapped me on the shoulder and said….get up! It was the best sleep that I have had in a week.

Dinner…..well it started with coffee and a shower……and he cooked the chicken skewers and I made a salad and baked potato. I think in a former life I lived on baked potatoes.

To the Alhambra at 8, outta there with a win of $100 each and off for an ice cream.

Here I sit making cards and a few of the people at the pool want me to bring the pencils, alcohol blenders, markers and stamped designs to the pool so that can make a few things too. If it is not windy it will be fun. If windy it will be difficult.

Tomorrow we hope to be at Reflexions and then @ 2 pm heading out on a private boat ride from a friend who just got his catamaran back from repair. I am glad that I bought my seasick wristbands.

Paul has conquered over half of his 9 lb worth of magazines.
The ones that are read get passed on to another.

We have put on over 250 km on the car in just a week.
Apparently we are driving lots but going nowhere really.

We have only 3 more places for dinner ….Pikas, Bavaria and MJ.
Trying to fit Alfies and Fish House in.

Here it is 9:45 pm and I am ready to crawl under the covers again and hope that the airco does not get boosted warmer.
I was known for setting the thermostat to 60F. I was always hot. Now I leave as is which is usually 72F the standard on central AC. Even when I think it's hot during the night I start to feel cool.

We have reached our halfway point on this vacation and we are beginning to say to each other…I miss Lily and Tobey. We have checked in with our friends who are watching the pets and they assure us that all is well.

Early this morning we picked up Acai bowls and brought to friends at Ritz.
We ate at one of the Cabana things that had had rented for the day. It was nice and we had a good visit and all enjoyed the Eduardos bowls!

Today’s weather was somewhat overcast when we left Ritz for Reflexions at 10 am.
No wet streets, so it looked like it did not rain either Palm or Eagle areas or downtown.
There was 1 ship in, an NCL ship.

The clouds cleared by 11 am it was a very pleasant day but boy do I miss the stiff breezes…..the breeze today was barely a whisper.

The staff at Reflexions laugh at me as I barely leave the water.
But today, I fooled them! I got hooked on the Netflix Harry/Meghan and found it pretty interesting.
I watched 2 episodes, but did spend a fair amount of time in the water.
We met a lovely Dutch family and they are here looking for a home and getting discouraged.
Seems the house they are interested in is in a neighborhood of AirBNB and VRBO and rental houses. They plan on being her 6 months a year and do not to be in a transient neighborhood and do not plan on renting the house while they are in Holland during the Spring and Summer. I have heard this complaint before and it is a difficult situation when neighborhoods are turning into rental communities.

Anywho, they are staying at Talk of the Town and had lots of good to say about the place.
Paul and I plan to take a looksee on Sunday or Tuesday when we are back at Reflexions.

Dinner was at Pancake place downtown at Seaport Marketplace and we both had a Dutch pancake with bacon and apple. Delicious.

A trip to Alhambra lasted a little longer than normal.
We played our promotion $ and point $ tonight and lasted almost 2 hrs, turning it into $180+…so we were winners. We left happy.

    That’s all for now.
I added a few photos to the google link. https://www.aruba.com/forum/redirect...2tBDJpGPBFF23A

Here it is earlier than 10:30 pm and we are almost all tucked in for the night.

The weather today was beautiful, and the wind had picked up, so it was very comfortable being on the pool deck. We spent about 3 hours in the pool and out every now and again for bathroom, refreshments and me…finishing up Harry/Meghan and Paul…reading.
If you have not watched NETFLIX Harry/Meghan, it is pretty interesting.

We took a ride at around 3 pm to the lighthouse and then over toward Hooiberg. We avoided downtown.

Dinner tonight was at Pika’s Corner and it was fabulous.
Paul had tenderloin on skewer and I had shrimp on skewer…came with fries and salad and they gladly skipped my fries and I got 2 salads instead.
Located about 200 feet west of Wacky Wahoo.
Their Sangria was very good, but boy it made my head sweat.
The seats are VERY uncomfortable, but the food is well worth the pain.
Service was terrific!! Reasonable pricing and truly eating local.

Then there was the Alhambra Casino…that is all I have to say about that

Thanks for the photos of Pika’s Corner. We have seen the place when we’re at Wacky Wahoos and have been meaning try it.
Have you tried Patrizia’s yet? Our first visit there in July was amazing. When we went back in October we were disappointed and are reluctant to return.
I’m enjoying your reports and photos!
