How crazy was it during the soccer game today? I saw the Netherland's won before I went out today.

I really don’t know. Lacabana pool bar was busy with soccer watchers but it was not packed.
The local Dutch bars were busy and loud per a friend that was at one.

SUNNY…sort of one of those pray for a cloud kind of day, at least in the Eagle Beach area.
Sunny, breezy and very comfortable…….the sunburn on my nose is indicative of the sun’s intensity. (tomorrow a hat. I was loaded with SPF 50 in my defense)

Apparently, there was a bit of rain up more north of us early morning and then some rain downtown at around 5 pm……. We saw none of that here.

We spent the morning from about 8 til 1:30 at the pool, with a quick walk across the street for a dip in the ocean. We showered and then hopped in the car for a visit to Alto Vista Chapel and spent a while there. Whether it be your cup of tea or not, it is a lovely and quiet place to reflect or pray or meditate.

Back to LaCabana and dozed for an hour before heading downtown.
Went to 3 jewelry stores looking for a watch battery to be installed.
All 3 ….only sell and install watch batteries to customers that bought watches there. Seriously??

Ticked off and still with a dead watch, went to Hung Paradise and had a wonderful meal of chicken and rice and beef and broccoli. Paul had the tomato soup and I had the hot and sour soup.
    Ya, a Nexium kinda meal.

The Seaport Marketplace is decorated nicely for the holidays and the skating rink was BUSY with kids falling and it looked like a giant concussion waiting to happen. I will post photos in the google thingy. Notice I said skating and not ice skating? The surface they are skating on is not ice.

Casino was in and out…$50 in, 3 min later $0 out.

Tomorrow will spend the morning and early afternoon at the beach (maybe Reflexions) and mid afternoon plan on meeting friends that are staying here for BINGO poolside. I have not yet told the man I sleep with about that…..BINGO is NOT his game. He may opt for a nap in the unit.

    That’s it for now.

9:54 and I am really ready for a good sleep.

PS………. Our Hyundai Accent from Tropic has no back up camera We are so very used to the back up camera, we miss it. So here, we’ll back up til we hear glass break.

Sounds like a great day! Glad weather was good. We were at a kids bday party today and a couple was there who just got back Thursday from aruba and they said it rained a lot. Love your photos and the Xmas decorations! I have never been to Aruba in December so it’s so nice to see the lights! Thanks for the update.

You might want to try Boolchands and I am pretty sure they will change your watch battery.

Loving your trip reports! I totally understand about missing a backup camera. Last month our Nissan Versa (?) didn’t have a camera and boy did I miss it. What it did do is “beep” when backing up if you were close to hitting something. I found that slightly helpful! Enjoy your day today.
