Great news about not needing root canal or a crown! Do you have a backup dentist in Florida should something happen when you are at home?

Love your pictures and your report so far! I miss Aruba...

I will also say: when we were there, we went to Local Store twice and it was nowhere near as good as it has been in the past. I am not sure what they changed, but the servers we had were less than thrilled to wait on pretty much anyone and the food was kinda meh. I didn't say anything in my report because I thought maybe it was just me but reading what you said does make me wonder what's up with them. Kinda sad. We love(d) that place! I hope maybe they are just having an off couple of weeks... months... whatever.

We went for an early dinner at Local Store of wings and funchi fries….i have decided that I dislike the funchi fries. I ordered chicken tenders and Paul ordered the wings. The tenders were not tender and I sent them back for wings instead. The server was a bit annoyed til I showed her they could not be cut with a knife. She said she’d bring them home for her dog.
That's a big bummer about The Local Store - when I went twice in October both were good experiences and I was loving the place - servers can make it or break it to me. Sorry to hear it wasn't a good meal/time for you.

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

Great to read about your successful tooth repair. A tooth or teeth in need of repair is an irritant for both you and Paul. Glad it's been taken care of.

Enjoy the rest if your day Andrea.

Well I did not stay out of the casino tonight….good thing!
I hit for $1156 on a bonus round and Paul hit for $250 on his machine.
We were both playing FU DU LE (?)
We cashed out and that was our excitement for the day.

We woke early and got out to the pool by 7:30. Paul went over to get coffee and I put our stuff at a table and sat, opened up my ipad to read and lo and behold a woman came by and with a bit of a tone, asked me to move 1 table to my left as she was holding tables for her 14 family members. Because I am 1) a good soul or 2) a sap, I relinquished the spot. I said to her YOU ARE WELCOME as I moved…She never said thank you. Tomorrow I will not move my fat behind and I may just get out there earlier and save some tables for some imaginary family members Paul came back and he and lady were old chums from back in the day in MA. Oh dear God. My eyes are strained and painful as the “stink eye” that I was sending in his direction went unrecognized.

I left the pool at 9, showered and hurried off to the dentist.
There was 0 traffic downtown and I buzzed right thru!
By 10:00 I was xrayed and shot up full of local anesthetic.
By 10:45, I was driving back to LaCabana with a new composite filling and a numb ½ side of my face with some drool every once in a while
The exams and cleanings will be next week.

Once back we decided to go for a ride to the Arikok and see sites we have not seen in 7 or 8 years. We got there and BOTH of us had left our wallets in the room safe….no $, no plastic, no licenses yikes.
Back to LaCabana to get what we needed and decided that we needed to eat…..which was pretty difficult for me.
By this time I was pretty hungry, tired and cranky “Hangry”…….I am usually all “sweetness and light” but I was now in need of food, motrin and a nap. We had some of the cheese from that specialty shop at the north end of LaCabana parking lot. It was a fig and blue cheese combo which was amazing.

After our 2 hour naps, we jumped into the pool and pranced about for an hour or so.
My Novocain was just about worn off and I was feeling better.

My “man chef” cooked tenderloin skewers on the grill and I prepared baked potatoes and Greek salad. Also, the feta that the little cheese shop sells is delicious. Believe me, you have to buy the tenderloin skewers at Superfood. Delicious and tender.

I know that I said NEVER, but we did wind up at the Alhambra again and we both won.

Tomorrow, is pool day with a walk across the street to jump in the ocean and then back to the pool.

That is about it for now
