    Jacki's Family Trip 8/6 - 8/19/2022

    Suitcases out, packing has started.

    Car booked with Aruba Royal
    Long Term Airport parking pre-paid
    Passports are in my carryon
    Storage unit delivery scheduled
    Dog sitters secured

This year will be very different for us. The first week will just be the 5 of us. Me, Rich & our kids. The second week my sisters-in-law will join and possibly a good friend of my daughter's if she finds a decent flight price. I found a non stop from JFK for only $400 on JetBlue, but she's nervous about flying out of JFK by herself. We shall see. I don't think there has ever been a time when we were only a party 7! We are usually 15 or more!

I am shocked that your group has shrunk significantly.
    Where is everybody else?

Looking forward to reading of your Aruba story.
Will you renew your vows again?

No renewing of the vows this year, maybe next if they do it again since it will be our 25th wedding anniversary and 25th Aruba anniversary

My mom passed, my father is not really able to travel any more. My brother has a 6 month old and is not interested in going this year. My cousins and their kids went to Disney World earlier in the summer. My nieces in Germany have other commitments - one pregnant, the other has a toddler. My sister in law in Germany went to Hawaii and California in May. My sisters in law from California will have friends coming but we will be back to Jersey and work by then. It will be very strange being SO quiet!

I think her fear is more about flying alone, not really JFK. I personally really like flying out of JFK but would not fly alone out of any airport. I have issues.

I will admit that flying alone was nerve wrecking for me the first few times. It took a while to get used to as well as being on vacation alone.

I won’t fly alone either. I need an arm to squeeze just in case there’s a lot of turbulence. I used to have a fear of flying mostly because of turbulence but I found the more I flew the better I got and flying long distance to Europe helped a lot. Those planes are usually larger and fly at higher altitudes so you fell less movement. I won’t go on a small plane because of this. So many of us have issues flying. Lol.

    ditto!!!
the few times I have flown alone, I have been a real "hemorrhoid" to the person next to me.
I really did try hard not to grab their arm..but failed miserably.

now back to Jacki's aruba story.....I bet Saturday cannot come soon enough!!!
