Please let me know what anti-skeeter spray you have found and how it works. I, too, am a biting bug magnet and they leave quite the welts. I sure hope whatever you found works!!

Love the "snake" story. I too am a mosquito magnet-my whole life. Love to find something that works. I saw an ad today for something called Buzz B Gone. It is a small device that attracts and kills them. Much smaller than a bug zapper(take along size) and more efficient. It has good reviews.

I use something I found on EBAY a few years ago. It has a vanilla scent. They said that skeetos hate the smell of vanilla. I said hog was it contains 25% deet. However, I once went to Puerto Rico and was outside my Aunts deck with other family members. They were all scratching and at night they could see the skeetos on top of their hair. Except for me so they were wondering why they were keeping away from me. :>)

Colette........... Cutter Insect repellent. Wearing it now. It smells lousy

    June 20, Monday
Juneteenth is not celebrated in Aruba, but we saw many tourists with black and red and green colors celebrating!

Weather breezy and sunny……some rain showers when we drove down to San Nic today, but not enough to call it real rain. It was a tease.

We had our early dental appointment, got a clean bill of dental health and we were off to San Nic by 9 am. We drove around a bit, stopped and got some more cat food for our little friend and drove over to Baby Beach. By 10:30 it was pretty busy and it looked as if a couple of schools had field trips there today……….no swim lessons like we often see. ( Sholl in session here til July 8) We did not go in the water as our chairs we back at the rental....forgot to put them in the trunk. So today was just a “drive by”. The Secrets resort is still a few stories tall of steel structure and it did not look like anyone was working when we went by.

Back to Eagle Beach and spent some time floating and visiting friends from NY that are staying at LaCabana.
By 3 pm we were wiped, came back to our rental for some hydration and a 2 hr nap.

Dinner was at 7 @ Bavaria. Spaetzle and chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy and the famous cucumber salad. I ran into 2 forum members there and they said hello. They stay at the Renaissance Ocean Suites.
We had no issues getting to Bavaria from our rental…………straight up route 2, left on Palm Beach rd and direct access into the parking lot that Bavaria shares with a few other places.
Dinner was delicious and we made reservations for next week and will dine outside there with the kids!

Marriott casino was freezing and unkind.
We stayed for a whopping 20 min where we each lost $100 .
We sat and had a cold drink in the lobby and listened to the wonderful singer, whose name escapes me at the moment. Colette, pls what is her name?

A few observations……………..the roads in the Palm Beach area are a rutted mess. Along the blvd up past the Ritz and then down Malmok Weg it is brutal…..ruts, holes, divots and poor lighting. Note to self, stay away from these roads.
The timeshares are running at about 80-85% and hotels are not too far behind……….in the 70s. Of course some are at 100% like Bucuti. I can honestly say Aruba is back to what it was or very close to pre pandemic numbers.

I am liking our rental more and more.
But and the big but will be when the troops arrive on Saturday.
Valium is not sold OTC right?

Sunset tonight was hazy . The winds are comfortable, no blowing sand.

The new Eduardos at LaCabana is doing a booming business. The Acai bowls are not reflux friendly… today was a 2 nexium day.

    Calling it a night.

Tomorrow Eagle beach, and eating dinner in…chili and cornbread from home for dinner.

That was one busy day! Love that you take care to feed the kitties. You guys are more adventurous than us, this time...we are lazy..lol

BTW, I feel ya on the Nexium, i am already taking 2 per day and brought some supplemental antacids to avoid the "flux". I always eat too rich while here!

Andrea - it’s Amy Sorinio! Wow she was there on a Monday night!? Usually Tuesday and Friday at the Marriott but she must have changed her schedule. As I was reading your past with you mentioning you were at the Marriott casino, I immediately thought of Amy. So glad you got to see her. Her website should have an updated schedule. And I hope Cutter helps you. Sound like you had an adventurous day! Yay!

It was biblical! He watched if for what seemed to be an eternity…. And then held up someone’s braided hair extension.

That is all , time for dinner.
    So cute Andrea!!
