Smile Lee Couple's Quick Trip 8/29-9/1

One-half of the couple (ME! ) has her completed ED with the beautiful green check mark (meaning qualified to board). My negative COVID results came to me late last night. I'm expecting my other half's results to come in sometime this morning *praying and crossing fingers*, and then I'll get his ED card completed.

We are excited for a much needed get away from work, but understand that with the rising positive numbers in Aruba, it will be a very different trip than our visit last year. We are planning limited outings (a couple of outdoor restaurants and 1 grocery store visit) and are mostly focusing on sun and sand...and not working (although he's taking his laptop for something that has to get done ...I refuse lol). Thankfully our condo has a full balcony with loungers looking out to Eagle Beach.

A dear friend's cousin did the same Saturday-to-Tuesday trip this past weekend and gave us the run down, so I feel a bit more prepared and comfortable.

I'm not going to post a whole lot, but I will definitely give an overview of my airport and on-the-ground experience.

The airport was great! We got in about 30 min early so we were ahead of the flight right behind us. My guy got in the Customs line as I waited for my small bag to come off the carousel. The Customs line was the longest part, but everyone was patient and kept their distance. It took about 45 minutes to get through the the line and then we got picked up by Bully and headed to Oceania on Eagle Beach.

It was around 4 when we hit Eagle Beach on Saturday, 8/29 and there were VERY FEW people! It was weird but relaxing.

Today (Sunday) there are more people, but it's still not crowded. Seems like more local folks than tourists.

We went to Super Food today and they are so much more on top of it than in the states They are not giving out any plastic bags and they have a machine to cleanse the carts! They don't have that in the DC area!

We are thoroughly enjoying ourselves, but will miss the live music at Bugaloe tonight...as it is currently forbidden in Aruba. I'm ok with that...better safe than sorry.
