Okay, to wrap up our last night and then the disaster of a travel day. First the positive. Wow, wow, wow is all I can say. We spent the day relaxing over at the Ritz...and enjoyed another great meal with our friend Dwayne. We ate, and drank a lot, lol. Its nice when the casino is picking up the bill minus the extra tip we leave- they only allow a 15 percent tip and there is ZERO chance we leave anything close to that on a "free" 200 meal. After relaxing around the Ritz we headed back to organize and shower before dinner.

We of course went back to the Divi bar for our traditional last meal which was really special. The ladies and gents at the Ritz are so thoughtful, considerate and caring it is amazing. What happened at our last dinner made my wife cry like a baby she was so touched. Jenssen our favorite over there brought us a very nice handmade card from all the people wonderful crew at the Divi Bar and and surprise dessert. In big letters it said " Dupuis Family Thanks for being a part of our lives" with all of them signing it with some other cool drawings. These incredible people are family to us... we would do anything for them.

After our incredible dinner we said our goodbyes and headed back to our room for one last drink and an early night to bed.
Trip 33 begins on July 15.

Our travel day was easily the worst travel experience Ive ever had from start to finish. We woke up to an email saying our flight would be delayed...no big deal we thought we have some extra time then to enjoy another lunch at the Ritz and a few drinks. Lunch with Dwayne was again great...we ordered so much food it was scary but I wanted a little over everything so I ordered it....again thanks to the Ritz Casino for picking up the bill. While at lunch they extended the delay again....I looked up weather back in Boston and it appeared like that was the issue.

After chatting it over with Dwayne he convinced me it was in the stars for us to stay another night. I agreed. I checked with our dog sitter and she said no problem, checked with the Boardwalk and they said we could stay in the 1br we already had...perfect right? Ha ha, NOPE! And it only went downhill from there. I called up Jetblue- and they said my estimated wait time was 335 minutes!!!! I had it on speaker and my wife looked at me and said, did I hear that correctly? Yep, but I said that can't be possible so I waited, and I waited...and waited some more. After 2 hours on hold I was convinced they were not lying. Talking about awful customer service!!!! They said anything could be done online including changing tickets- yep, NOPE did not work.

So with that we gave up and went to the airport- oh my what a train wreck. Yesterday was a total disaster and the worst experience of my 33 trips- and it was so bad if that had happened my 1st couple of trips I don't think I would have ever continued...yep that bad! It all revolves around one thing- inadequate staff across the board- from checkin with between 1-3 people checking everyone in. The reason I say 1-3 as most often it was less than 3- they just kept disappearing. The USA Customs was a JOKE!!!!!!! The lines were out of this world long and when we got close we figured out why....3 or 4 working. To make matters worse after getting through USA customs we walked by the customs station on your left as you approach the last security screening and there were FIVE USA customs people chatting it up. I am thinking they could have put at least 2 or 3 of them on the desk...but what do I know.

People were freaking out...many tried to cut lines only to be scolded by fellow passengers. They were all head of me trying to move further ahead as there were going to miss their flights. I myself stayed reasonable calm but was less than pleased. So from curb to gate how dong did it take us? How about 3 hours and 32 minutes!!!! You can't make this up. Glad my flight was really delayed....and we arrived over 4 hours before we were suppose to- thankfully.

The flight itself was fine once we got on it. Getting home just past 1am was not fun at all. We will change many things up before our next flight to help with the process. Global entry is one of them for sure...the other is taking the early flight...another could be leaving JetBlue after using my 160k points. I was disgusted in JB- I was a fan...not so much anymore.

All that said it was an incredible trip!!!! Nice to meet another Aruba lover while there as well.. Brian is a gentleman and has a great family.

Jay, you're absolutely right about the issues with JetBlue and US Customs at the airport! The days people travel are Saturday and Sunday, so be staffed for the crush on those days!! SIMPLE.
Thank you for the kind words about me and my family. It was really nice meeting you, Tracy and CJ there too!

It would never keep me from going at this point. We always try to prepare for the worst and were for the most part- still stunk. It was a great learning lesson though. Global Entry here we come, lol.
