Just got back from a little walk while the family rests a bit. Yesterday was another very nice Aruba day. We got up and lounged around the Boardwalk in the morning. I had another great smoothie from Eduardos. We played in the pool onsite for a bit then decided to walk down to the Playa Linda for some poolside bingo and lunch. The bingo cards are only $6 a piece and they had great payouts IMO- We played 4 games at right around $100 and the last was worth $200. We got close but never close enough to scream bingo. We sat at lunch right at the bar and enjoyed a few drinks along the way. We split a pizza and my wife ordered the chicken skewers. She loved the chicken and salad- great value for $10 and the pizza was only $8 and excellent. Loved the women who worked the bar she has been there for years. They also had some great 2 for 1 specials for happy hour that go from 10-6pm.

After hanging out at the Playa we came back for a nap. After our nap and a few drinks on the balcony we went to Casa Nonna to dine with our good friend Eduardo. My wife had the Chicken Scampi and loved it....CJ and I had the chicken parm and it was excellent. After an excellent dinner we came back to the room and played some cards and relaxed for a while. I did a little gambling last night and returned home with the same as I left with so that is another win in my book.

The next couple of nights we are going out with our island friends and we pretty excited about it. Tonight our friend Eduardo is picking us at 6:00 and we are headed out to the local store for dinner- another friend Kennith will be joining us as well. After dinner the plan is to go watch the Joy Ride band who is playing at Bugaloe. Sebastian and his wonderful wife will be picking us up tomorrow at 5pm or so- hes always late so that is why I say or so, lol. We will then go see his new house he finished building and then out to dinner. Not sure where we will land.

The trip is going by quickly. Hoping my family gets up soon as I am getting hungry.
Trip 33 begins on July 15.

I am very jealous of every aspect of your trip. Even breaking even in the casinos.

Haha thanks. It feels good not to lose, lol. I have decided to limit some gambling going forward to preserve cash to enjoy with the entire family-meaning I am never out past midnight like almost all other trips but our last one as well, lol. Sitting on the balcony eating my leftovers from Casa Nonna. We decided to stay on site today and use the pool...they added a lot of water so its very refreshing today. The family was not hungry so I am doing lunch "alone" right now which is okay. My son is excited as he just got his class list for the fall and all his close friends seem to be in his class. Today could be another nap day so we can prepare for a night out with a couple of our friends.

Here is a quick recap from yesterday which was probably our favorite day of our trip so far. We spent the morning and afternoon here at the Boardwalk. I enjoyed another Eduardos smoothie for breakfast. We swam in the pool and CJ met some kids from Belgium and played soccer and football with them. We ate lunch at our room and enjoyed leftovers from Casa Nonna...yum. After lunch back to the pool and while CJ was playing with the same kids we met some of their parents and enjoyed talking/learning about Belgium. They ended up being good friends of the owners here and have known them since childhood in Belgium. We enjoyed our chat....

After a nap our good friend Eduardo picked us up and we headed to the Local Store for dinner and drinks. Their wings are amazing! We ordered a few orders of those, salad, burgers etc and everything was very good. After dinner we went to Buglaoe to catch the Joy Ride Band playing. They were EXCELLENT and a must do IMO. The pier was hopping....it was very nice to see. Service was slow but thats because of the zillion of people that were there. We spent a couple hours there enjoying the music and catching up on some things we had not chatted about online.

After Bugaloe we headed back to our place and I was thinking about heading out to gamble but when we walked on the property we saw all of our new friends from Belgium. They said hello and invited us to come back and enjoy drinks with them at the pool. So what did we do? We made a drink and headed over to chat. There were 3 couples 2 of which we met in the pool. It was very nice talking with them and learning more....and finding out how much we actually had in common despite our differences. We learned a ton.....in Belgium they don't learn English but wow the kids spoke it really well. How did they learn it you may be asking yourself? The answer is Nickelodeon- lol. Many of their stations are in English, one of the adults said he grew up learning through the Fresh Prince of Belair. We hung out with them for an hour or so before heading to our room around 10:30 or so. I decided to relax and enjoy a drink on the balcony with Tracy instead of heading to the casino....another win there, lol. They were great and invited us to hang out with them again tonight.

Today we are relaxing around our Casita this morning. We plan on heading back down to the Playa to play some bingo again today during the early afternoon. Tonight we are heading out with our good friend Sebastian to see his new house and to go to dinner. The only the thing I need to do today is make our appointments for our return testing.
Trip 33 begins on July 15.

glad that your day was terrific!!
hahahaha Nickelodeon is very popular for learning English..........
I have a woman in one of my swim classes that is from Baku, Azerbaijan and she watches Sesame Street and other PBS learning shows.
the funny thing is that when she speaks English, she also "signs". whatever she is watching and learning from includes American sign language.
it is not only terrific, it is kind of funny and she is very very good at signing, but the speaking, not so much.
(no one in her family is deaf, she is just signing!)

Just finishing up another great island day! We relaxed in the AM and headed down to the Playa for more bingo....we donated but you can't complain about the experience for sure. We had several drinks and another nice lunch at the Avenue- located at the Playa. For those that may not know its another spot "owned/operated" by Eduardos. They are in the process of opening their 4th spot soon that is more focused on the locals and not the tourists. Eduardos is rocking and doing great!!!!

After enjoying our early afternoon down at the Playa we came back to the Boardwalk and enjoyed swimming in the larger pool for a bit. We chatted with a couple that was also from the US in the pool. After relaxing in the pool it was time to get ready for our night with our one of our favorite people in the world- Sebastian and his wonderful wife Alexia. They came and picked us up around 5pm. They took us to their new home they have built in the last year. We relaxed and enjoyed a few drinks before heading out to dinner. We decided to dine at the Divi Bar...and was assisted by our great friend Jensen all night long. We had a ton of food and even more drinks. Everyone but myself enjoyed some sushi and they loved it! I enjoyed a nice burger for the 1st time this trip. After our dinner we had them over to our place for a couple of more drinks which was nice. They loved the additions the Boardwalk has done. They took a ton of pictures as they are in the process of building an apartment that they want to rent on airbnb once done. The loved the small touches the Boardwalk has done.

They left about 20 min or so ago...just another great night hanging out with our friends. For those that don't know Sebastian was the one who "adopted" my family and made us fall in love with him and the Ritz....we have been great friends for the past 6 plus years. I will be a grand parent to their future child...which is beyond special to me!

Tomorrow we hope to connect with Brian if we are up and moving tomorrow. Off to bed! More tomorrow.
Trip 33 begins on July 15.
