Cafe Chaos is right across the street from the park next to the Ocean Suites.

The place is really hopping late night!!!

Even though it is on the outskirts of downtown, it is very much a local bar, similar to Alfies. If you want to mingle with the locals at very reasonable bar prices it is the place to go. We've probably been there a half a dozen times to date. They do not have much in the way of food though, so it's mostly drinks only.

Wow, you are getting things checked off quickly on your things to do list. We love all the details about buying a car and getting it on the road in Aruba. You really did some good research as too all the proper steps to do. I guess we need to think about all the things you need to do when you own. We just come and plop down on the beach thinking about buying here one day too. Not giving too much thought to the things like buying, furnishing and getting a car. That's what we love this forum-very knowledgeable members.

    Saturday Day 6:
Today we just relaxed around the pool most of the afternoon, as our errands consisting of taking care of business have subsided and tried to catch up with some sun time.
We decided to go to Ricardo’s for happy hour. It was our first happy hour there and we’ll return. We tend to seek out happy hours where the whole bar is included and this one is now included in our list of staples. We moved over to Ricardo’s Restaurant for dinner. We ate there two time prior and enjoyed it, so we returned. The view from the dining area is exceptional and makes for a wonderful dining experience. Their pricing is like Mathew’s and las Ramblas, two others that we enjoy. It you want to dine reasonably with a beach view all three of these fit the bill.
Headed back to the condo for a night cap poolside before calling it a night.

We’ll be at Ocean Suites for part of our trip. Tom doesn’t drink so I’ll check it out online first to see if it will work. Alfies has been on my to try list and we still haven’t made it so maybe that would be better.

Ricardo’s has always been one of my favorites but we hit an off night there on our last trip. I still want to go back, Tom not so much. Sounds like things are back to normal there though.

At least at Alfies you have a selection of food choices and it has A/C. Cafe Chaos is open air.

    Sunday Day 7:

After lunch we decided to take a ride to the Ostrich Farm for the Farmer’s Market. We had stop there once before a few years ago, but we had happened upon it by accident. So, off we went trying it find it again. GPS is a wonderful thing and we came upon it with no problem. There were a number of vendors selling their goods. We talked to or better phrased, he talked to us about the wine, beer and rum he makes. He had two wines and one rum for tasting and all were very good. We didn’t purchase any, but we certainly learned a lot about him and his home brew. They also farm to table food being prepared to order. I thought we might take a tour of the Ostrich Farm, but the wife is still a little under the weather from the cold she brought with her and didn’t feel like walking in the direct sun, so maybe another time.

From there we took a ride inland and toured some new construction and neighborhoods in the Noord area, by way of the Calbas development. Every trip the wife wants to drive through the Cunucu circle to see the homes, so we passed by them on the way.

We stopped back at the condo for a dip in the pool and then went to Pega Pega for happy hour. They had live entertainment with a gentleman playing a steel drum. We sat at the bar with a nice couple at the bar from Connecticut. It was their thirty fifth trip to the island and we chatted for a bit. We stayed for until sunset and then back to the condo for dinner.

Tonight we cooked salmon on the grill with some mixed vegetables. A younger couple, everyone is younger than us, from Canada sat at the table next to us. They were on the island for the first time, so had a lot of questions. Very nice people…

We sat out for a bit and then off to see the sandman.
