    Monday Day 8:

Laundry day and restocking the kitchen…After our first full week it was time for laundry and grocery shopping. We keep enough clothing here to cover us for a week+, which allows us the ease of traveling with only a carry on. At our age, the less we have to lug around the better.

Went to Price Smart to pick up the bulk items we use anything that is nonperishable that we can store when we close the condo down when we leave. Even though there is an annual membership fee, we feel it really pays off in the long run, as there are several staples that we purchase that are considerably cheaper than the other sources.

From there we went to Super Foods to grab a few more things and then back to the condo to unload. Took a refreshing dip in the pool and sat poolside with a beverage until we decided what we were going to do for dinner. We had planned on going to Lobster Night at the Chophouse but decided not to. We ended up going to happy hour at Mathew’s and then stayed there for dinner. They sat us close to the beach, which was nice. We eaten at Mathew’s numerous times now, and I their food quality and service have never disappointed.

We returned to the condo after dinner and sat outside for a while before retiring.

Observation: There is significant beach erosion in front of Mathew’s on Divi Beach. They’ve actually moved the Casa Del Mar guest beach chairs down to the point between Casa Del Mar and the Divi at the point. From that point towards the Tamarijn, the beach is in good shape.

    All for today…

Happy to hear that Matthews has been good. It used to be one of our favorites and then abut 5 years ago we had an evening with horrid service. I’ve been trying to get Tom to give it another chance but so far no go. Maybe this trip.

the photos of the water and erosion is pretty dramatic.
that area constantly changes at mother nature's whim.

You make our day with your great trip reports and pictures. We stay at ABC and Ricardo's and Mathew's is a big plus. At the bar at Ricardo's their Happy Hour uses better booze than most and you don't have to get 2 drinks at once like other HH bars. Also they have a great breakfast and very reasonable like Matthews with a fantastic view. With Pega Pega and the Chophouse right next door we feel we are in a good spot. Thanks for bringing it all back with your pictures.

Love your pictures! Is the beach at Divi All Inclusive ok? I've noticed on the webcam water seemed pretty rough this past weekend and hoping for no serious erosion like past years. Hope the sunsets have been great, it is going to take a lot to beat last year's one of the best sunsets for us.

there was a day or 2 over the last few days that there was NO SWIMMING posted due to the rough seas.
my friends staying at Lacabana went up to Arashi 2 days where it was much calmer.
