Terrific that your bride was able to escape the Ritz while still holding some of their money.
We like that casino (we never win there) but it is less smokey and the drinks are terrific.

How was traffic heading into town for Que Paso?

For sure and we too love the lack of smoke...

With the Beach Tennis Tournament and the cruise ships in town we decided to take the interior roads into downtown, so it wasn't bad.

I wish!! Our May trip was not as good as the previous year. Ritz was the worst and Crystal was the best. I figure the Ritz owes me so we’ll go back.

    Friday Day 11:

This afternoon was a repeat of the last two, except we did stop at Super Foods to grab a few things. They are doing a lot of work between the parking lot and 1B. They stripped the land and are leveling and rolling it. It initially appears like a future parking lot expansion, although I haven’t heard anyone mention what it will be exactly. Time will tell…

Eagle Beach was quieter today. Perhaps there were several lingering cruise passengers yesterday. I just figured that they were gone, as it was later in the afternoon when I took the picture on day ten.

After a dip in the pool we headed to the Beach Bar for happy hour. They were very busy and initially understaffed, but within twenty minutes from the start, two more bartenders arrived and filled the void.

Dinner was simple tonight on the grill at the condo, with salmon and mixed vegetables. We were both pretty tired, so we turned on the TV in the bedroom and I think we both fell asleep within twenty minutes. What can I say, we’re just two old, fortunate people, enjoying life…

    Saturday Day 12:

Another wash, rinse and repeat day today. Sorry, this is what happens once we get settled in…
La Quinta Beach Resort has a sign out by the road advertising their daily happy hours, so we thought we’d stop in to check it out. We go by the entrance every time we leave our condo so why not. Unfortunately, it was not for us, as it consisted of mostly premade fruity drinks and Balashi beer, so we left. You don’t know if you don’t try…

We decided on Matthew’s instead, so headed there for a beverage. We ended up staying there for dinner and had a repeat of the last time. What can I say, we’re a boring pair…

The wife’s fingers were itching for some slot play, so we stopped at Alhambra for a bit. She went off to “her machine” and I headed to the Blackjack tables, as I thought I might play a bit. I watched two different tables to get a feel for the other players and decided on neither, as almost none of them were following any kind of strategy, except maybe their own. Besides, the smoke was so bad, my eyes were burning, so I left the casino and walked around outside for a bit. Twist of Flavors was packed, and the seated tables were expanded outside in locations I had never noticed before. Went back inside to see how the wife was doing. She was wandering around looking for me, as she was up quite a bit, for her, and wanted to cash out. I think she would have stayed and gave it all back, but she had had enough of the smoke too.

And so came the end to another day. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

I thought Alhambra was smokier than ever when we were there in May. The first night I couldn’t stay and when we did go back it was late afternoon or early evening but it was still smoky. Crystal used to be the worst but it seems since Wind Creek took it over there has been a huge improvement. That’s where we’ll be when we move over to the Renaissance.

So, which machine is your wife’s favorite? I seemed to hit the most on 88 Fortunes but always curious what others like.

I cannot remember the years when the Alhambra did their renovations...I am guessing less than 10 years ago (it is a blur)
But, the old Alhambra was dirty and smoky and the new Alhambra is smoky. I do not get it. Why can't they improve their ventilation system?
The most certainly can afford to.
It is the casino that we frequent the most.

Again, thanks for sharing and I am heading to Publix soon for some "peppers".........stuffed peppers are on the menu for tonight.
    Thanks for the idea!

At Alhambra she was playing Lone Wolf.

There is a machine she loves to play near our home in the states, where we live fairly close to two small casinos. I'll have to get the name of it. She hasn't seen it hear yet.

She likes to stop the machines during the roll manually, and haven't found many of those at Wild Creek, but that was last trip. Have they updated any machines?
