Stayed around the pool this afternoon and then went over to Ricardo’s for happy hour. It was very busy there; people were two to three deeps at the bar.

From there we went to the Urataka Center for pizza. The restaurant was packed, and the pizza was excellent, as usual.

Went back to the condo for a beverage and some TV time.

    Sunday Day 27:

Had a great day spending the afternoon at Oceania with Robin and Stu by the pool. Then we all went to happy hour at the Divi Beach Bar. When we first arrived, it was standing room only, but some chairs opened and we sat at the bar. We all ordered food and beverages and stayed for the band. It was a fun night and a nice ending to the day.

We made our way back to the condo and called it a night.

    Some observations today:

    1. Gym-Hand sanitizer wipes at the entrance. Signs all around to clean the equipment before and after use.

    2. Gas Station-Signs all around to use hand sanitizer. At the island I was using, the hand sanitizer was empty, along with the towel dispenser. Same thing at the adjacent island. Hopped over one more and success. No hand sanitizer stations in the store.

    3. Super Foods-Signs all around, mentioning the importance is social distance. Did not see a single hand sanitizer station, anywhere in the store. No signs of price gouging. Plenty of inventory. A normal crowd for a Monday.

    Monday Day 28:

This morning we watched a few groups of people heading to the airport. Don’t know if it was their scheduled departure date or if they were leaving early.

Spent the early afternoon at Super Foods and getting gas. In those areas, it was business as usual.

Spent the afternoon at the pool. There were a couple families checking in at the reception desk, but it is starting to thin out. I spoke with one of the ladies that does check in, and she said that they were getting several reservation changes, but not many cancellations.

Ventured over to Mathew’s for happy hour. It was on the lighter side there, but people still there for happy hour and dinner. Over the years we’ve become friends with one of the bartenders there. She now has a management position and schedules the bar staff, so we asked her how they were going to handle the border lock down. She said that starting tomorrow, there first step was to keep people on, but reduce their hours. Like everyone else, it’s a wait and see process.

We cooked dinner on the grill tonight and ate at one of the gazebos. It was a quiet, pleasant night, and we discussed our plans for Easter. Normally we host the entire family, but I think we’ve decided to scrap the gathering completely, as we don’t want to be the ones that travel back to the states, without self-quarantining for a safe period. And, we’re not sure on the date we’ll be heading back.

Watched a little TV and hit the sack.

    the unknown is scary.
thanks for keeping us abreast of the census of visitors on the island.
my guess is that by Saturday it will be even less.

self quartering is a good idea when you get home.

    Tuesday Day 29:

Went to Super Foods mid-afternoon. It seemed busy for a Tuesday, but we attributed it to Flag Day tomorrow.

We sat around the pool the rest of the afternoon and talked to a couple of others that are still here. Some have changed their flights to leave a few days earlier, others are still waiting to hear from their airlines.

Took a drive Palm Beach way, heading towards Tierra Del Sol, to see what the activity looked like. A few restaurants, the larger ones and those with only indoor seating, were closed. Couldn’t look to closely, as we were driving, but it was different for sure.

We ended up at happy hour at Tierra Del Sol and were sat outside, as they have closed the indoor seating. Our server said that they will continue to stay open for now, but they are changing directives daily, sometimes midday.

We’re still waiting to get a definitive answer from A/A. The situation in NYS, continues to worsen daily. If we stay here to ride it out, I’d have to get the required insulin and diabetic testing supplies on the island, which shouldn’t be difficult. For now, life goes on as mostly normal here, and we're still able to enjoy the days...

Tierra del Sol looks nice. It’s good to hear that you are able to be out and about and enjoy. Hope your airline comes through with confirmation for you soon.
