    Days 4 (Sat) & 5 (Sun)

Sorry for skipping the trip report but Saturday night got away from me and led to a whole day being off.

Saturday we did the usual pool routine with beach at dinner. Then a group of 12 of us had dinner at Ruth's Chris and it was delicious. There was a medical incident at another table that got everyone's heart racing, but I think it ended up being that someone fainted and her table mates got very upset over it. Anyway, ever if they did interrupt the delivery of our sizzling steaks, I hope they are all OK.

Thereafter even though I wussed out and took home half my steak (it's funny cause I am the biggest guy at the table and almost everyone else finished theirs), I was in a food coma, so shot back to the room for a bit and then met the gang at Marriott casino. They played for a bit and I played the part of checking on everyone and reporting back. Well then we got back to the room, hit up a hot tub and I turned it up a notch. And Saturday night I ended up coming in at some ungodly hour and only ended up getting 2 hours of sleep. And of course Saturday was moving day. As I was coming home and the birds chirping I thought, I always do this to myself on moving day.

So after no sleep, a hassle with securing chairs by the pool and moving day, I was shot. But I also promised to pick up some friends at the airport at noon, so throw that into the mix. But hey, an exhausted day in Aruba is still a good day in Aruba.

Spent the rest of the day by the pool, then the Divi Beach Bar for Happy Hour and sunset. The Beach Bar was a hopping place yesterday. It's a really good setup and the service isn't bad. I hope they keep it up over there, it's a great spot and they are doing it up nice.

I forgot the rest… I had some cocktails with friends before they went out to dinner and then I went back up the room and had my leftover steak with some potatoes I fried up. Then I shot over to Carvel. Well I shot first to LaCabana where there used to be a Carvel and isn't anymore and then I went more towards downtown where I know there is still one. Had a nice large cup of chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and was in bed asleep sometime in the 10 o'clock hour. All in all a nice day despite being on no sleep.

    Day 6 - Monday

Another day, another trip to Super Foods and another airport run, this time to pick up my cousin. I owed her an airport run for promising her that I wasn't coming this year and then booking last minute.

Yesterday was more of the same, beach, pool, beach bar for happy hour and sunset. Dinner was Chalet Suisse and it was as delicious as always. This is my absolute favorite and a MUST do every year for me. I always get the same thing crabcake app, rack of lamb, chocolate mousse with a double espresso and sambuca for dessert. Absolutely delicious with impeccable service. Plus it was kind of funny, walking in we knew people at 4 or 5 other tables. Chalet Suisse was the place to be last night.

After we went to the Crystal (or whatever it is called now) for a bit. I decided to break down and play a little Carribean Stud with some friends. I can't say it was a great decision because I lost, but I won't say it was a bad one either because we all had some fun playing and there were some great hands, just not held by me. Then back home to bed at a reasonable hour of 12 or so.

Now I'm starting to get anxious that I leave on Friday. And because I only have 3 places to go to dinner left. And because it feels like I just got here. But being here, ever for a short time and on a tight budget, is better than not being here at all.

You never know, our paths might just cross. During the day you'd be able to spot me as the big guy with a dark colored hat and usually a Budweiser in my hand. :-)

Well, I'm the old lady with the dark glasses and hat! I love Chalet Suisse too. You made a good choice.
