So I haven’t written because this is Aruba. We have been taking our walk, going to the beach, having drinks, swimming, home or out for dinner and then the casino. Our friends who have a timeshare for 2 weeks at LaCabana come on Sunday and other friends come Saturday who rent down the street from us. Both sets of friends we met on the beach here and we remained friends. Once they get here, we are booked solid with dinners and beaches and grilling, tons of fun. Then after they leave, we still have another 3 days.

So usually this week is packed on the beach. It hasn’t been. Even Sunday which is a busy day with local families was light.

Well i spoke too soon. The crowds were there today. And what is with people and garbage on the beach. Kids eating chips, bag flies away and parents and kids do nothing. It flies into the water. Bottles floating. I got out of the water twice to get the things to put in the garbage. And its not like they don’t have alot of garbage cans. People are slobs.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. The beach today was pretty empty. We are going to Lucy’s Surfer Bar to just sit by the water and then check out the Wind Casino before heading back up our way. Our first set of Aruba friends come Saturday and the second come Sunday. Glad you made it Andrea, almost thought I saw you on Arashi but figured you couldn’t have landed, got to your place and on the beach that quick.

Peg, glad you are having fun.

The other night we went to Lucy’s Surfer bar, it was nice, had burgers. Met this couple, first timers and were staying at the Monastery. So I know there is a lot of controversy about that place taking reservations and not really being open. They said they were the only ones there, not really open. There were no curtains or blinds on the window and at night the outside lights shine in their window so they would go out and remove the bulbs, lol.

Then went to the Wind Creek. OMG, still stinks from smoke from when it was the Crystal and you could store meat in there its so cold. Also the worst selection of slots. One and done with that place.

Beach was great yesterday(Friday), not too crowded. Today one set of Aruba friends come and tomorrow our other set of Aruba friends come. The Ritz has not been nice to me the last 2 times, need to go back to slots, roulette is letting me down

We have a theory on why things don't feel as crowded this year. For many fixed week timeshare owners, Thanksgiving did not fall on the normal week this year due to the dates and how they lined up. Some people who normally travel for this week may not have wanted to be away for the holiday.

I’m surprised to hear about smokiness at the Crystal! When we were there in May it was a huge improvement from prior trips. I was looking forward to the Crystal. Sigh!! We enjoy Lucy’s. Will probably head there Monday after we check into the Renaissance.
