Our Annual Aruba Trip "Post thanksgiving" Paul/Andrea

We are heading off to our favorite place in the world.........Aruba and the LaCabana Resort.
We'll drive over to Lauderdale on Wednesday and then to AUA on Thursday.

We have no special plans during our 2 week stay, but everything will be special.

We have only 1 dinner reservation, we have our dental appointments and other than that.......ZERO plans.
We hope to be at Reflexions Beach a few times, Baby Beach once or twice and Boca Catalina Beach once or twice.

We have a car rental from Tropic.

Our Covid tests with our local public health dept is tomorrow morning.

On a sad note we had our old lady kitty at the vet today (emergency vet) and we were told it is time.
She is 18. She is in renal failure and yesterday she stopped eating.
We will bring her to our own vet tomorrow as we were unprepared/unready/unwilling today.
Her quality of life is gone and we will not allow her to linger and do not want her uncomfortable.

She came to us in June 2004...........she was 8 months old and was rescued by a cat rescue group in Waltham Ma.
So, this cat rescue group begged Paul and I to foster she and her 9 three day old kittens (yes 9) came to us for fostering. The kittens were all adopted in September 2004 and we kept the momma.
Her name is Midnight aka MIDDY Kitty. She is a Tortie.

She has brought us much joy.

It’s so difficult when it’s time for our fur babies to leave us. I’m sorry to hear about your kitty and will be thinking about you tomorrow.

Oh, my tortie was my favorite. Her name was Purrsnikitty, You were lucky to have had her for so long. Have a wonderful time. I really like Tropic Car Rental. In all the years I have used them, there was never any problem.... not like others I have used. Be well.

So sorry. Our pets have been our family too. So difficult to loose a pet.

I am so sorry Andrea. I know how difficult it is. Our last cat had stopped eating and hanging out with us. I spent over $1000 making sure there was nothing they could do for him(cancer through his digestive track) before we took him back to our vet for his 'final visit'.

Very sorry Andrea! You gave her a wonderful life and in return she helped you make this decision before you left for a relaxing vacation! Hugs!

    well....................it ain't over.
so last night we went to bed expecting her last vet visit to be at 8 am.
at 6 am she was pawing at us and then went and sat in front of the refrigerator.
I opened a can of bumble bee albacore, shoveled some into her bowl and she ate half the can.
    Now what?
The discussion has been tabled for a few hours.

Heart wrenching! Maybe call your own vet and tell him what’s going on? He may be able to advise or help ease your decision.
