    So sorry Andrea. I hope the vet was kind and helpful as you went through this. Please keep in mind if she was suffering, you would not want to keep her with you and would be best to let her go. \\

    the vet was wonderful peg.
    he was kind and easy to talk to.
    he ran no unnecessary tests and said " if Middy were my cat, this is what I would do"
    she had a vet appointment on Oct 2 and she weighed 10.5 lbs then.
    today she weighed 6.5.

    he sedated her and then was ready to put in an iv and then administer the medication that would euthanize her.
    but, when he sedated her, she fell asleep and before the IV was put in, she died.

    so, we are sad, but kind of relieved.

    Good to hear that the vet was so kind. It so very much helps when they take the decision from you as it’s such an emotional time. You were fortunate to have her for 18 years and she was fortunate that you knew it was time to let her go.

    I am so sorry Andrea. She is at peace now. 18 years is a long time for a cat.
