    December 5 Sunday

Another glorious day. Still plenty of breezes and a few clouds to block the sun when needed.

We spent the day at Reflexions Beach and missed seeing Annf. She was scraping ice off her windshield in NH I presume. 

We got to Reflexions at about 9:30 and along the way going thru the downtown we were caught in a deluge of rain. By the time (2 minutes) we pulled into the parking at the beach the rain had stopped and the sun was back. It did not rain again in that area all day.

One of the employees at Reflexions guided us to our reserved lounges and umbrella. We do not get the clam shell shade thing as it gets way too hot. The young man that helped us get settled said…”you are the lady that hardly gets out of the water.” Apparently that is what I am known for.

We ordered 2 bloody marys and when delivered brought them into the ocean and there we floated. When the cups were empty, Paul brought them out, laid in the sun and promptly fell sound asleep. (I know the routine…wake him at 12:30 for lunch).

There were many local families there, some we recognized and one family recognized us.
I swam back and forth for about an hour and then walked and water jogged til about 12 and I felt like I was frying. We broke for lunch at that point and lunch consisted of us sharing a BBQ Special…$13.95 for a good size slab of ribs and 2 large chicken legs, French fries and cole slaw. Although not a huge BBQ fan, I did have half the ribs and all of the fries and a “chill”.
It was a huge lunch and we were both full……Paul really full of ribs and chicken.
Total cost of our time at Reflexions...... $51 ($62 including tip). that included .....2 lounges, umbrella, 2 bloody Mary's, 1 chill, 1 BBQ special that we shared for lunch. Not bad for a full day huh?

We made our way back into the water and there we stayed til about 3 .

Back to LaCabana and had a beer at the Pata Pata bar, went back to the unit and showered and snoozed.

We took a ride to the lighthouse and discussed dinner and that neither of us were hungry so dinner never happened…..we did think that we were going to Amore next to Giannis, but we really were not hungry.

Made a deposit at Alhambra, came back to LaCabana and had ice cream at 10 pm for dinner and called it a night. But wait………as I was getting into my pjs, Paul said let’s give the Glitz casino a try. We walked over and turned $50 each into $0 each in 10 minutes, maybe less. It was like magic. (bad magic)

Finally teeth brushed, pjs on and calling it a night.

Apparently, it is my turn tomorrow to grab “that’s my spot” at 7 am at the pool.
That is OK………..I am bringing my phone and will watch Season 6 last 2 episodes of Downton Abbey while he huddles under the comforter.

Observation…………Aruba’s crowds still resemble a typical early December pre covid.
    Lacabana today is 78% full.

Sounds like a great day. We are so glad you turned us on to Reflexions, it's one of our favorite beach places to visit now.

Just catching up after a busy few days. So nice to read your relaxing and not boring trip reports. A day at Reflexions is definitely on my list for next year. Wanted to go this year but Priscilla and I were too lazy! Is it a big draw for the cruise ship passengers? Want to avoid those days if so.

I really need to give Bavaria German another chance as well. Went there on my first trip to Aruba and was completely underwhelmed. I'm thinking it was just a bad day for them because you all rave about it. I like your German chocolate cake to go idea...

So glad you are having a good time!! How are the sparkling fingers holding up?!

    December 6 Monday

Today was another sunny day with some occasional clouds and a very gusty wind. (Reminder, that wind makes the sun strength very deceiving……even though you may not be hot, you will be frying)

It was my turn to head out early and grab the good spot.
I was there by 7:15 and did not have to tackle any people with walkers or canes etc and get that space They were lucky! I did however consider knocking down a gentleman and stealing his big fat Cinnabon, but reconsidered as the jail here is not where I want to be. But I did have the thought nonetheless. I sipped my coffee and ate a banana while watching Downton Abbey. Paul joined me at about 9 and we had breakfast at the Islander Grill. We call it the bargain breakfast. I did skip the $8 meal and opted for a fruit bowl and bagel.

We spent the day poolside but I spent most of my time in the pool. I got out a few times to use the restroom and we did run to Lings at noon, just for a break from the sun and to get a few provisions.

Cutting my typing short as my hands are really hurting with arthritis today.
Will tell you all about the iguana that fell in the pool tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing the iguana story. We saw one practically jump into the pool at the Divi one year. Fortunately, no one was in the pool at the time and one of the employees got it out.

Can’t wait to read about the iguana!
I’m sorry your arthritis is kicking up. I have psoriatic arthritis. I know the flare ups are not easy. Hopefully you’ll be better soon.
