Andrea..... the crowds are very light compared to previous years and we always come around this time. Although there is a high number of palapas here per room it seems like fewer than half are used at any given time. I'm told that Manchebo should fill up this weekend. I hope so all these familiar faces here do want to be able to work.

Yes schexc, all you can eat ribs at Matthews but I'm really only good for one rack.... and that may be cuz the service was so slow. The place was packed last night and 5 or 6 parties of 10-12 so they were busy busy busy.... good for them. Also lots of folks not using their indoor voices....loud.

Took a taxi to Glitz last night and I'm done with that place! Big changes since I was there last and the changes don't fit me. Down to only 2 blackjack tables and those are in the area where the sunken bar used to be.... so not a lot of options for playing. I did get a seat and was able to rack up a modest win. I could only find 2 bartop type of video poker machines and played one for a while with modest results....and then grabbed a cab to Alhambra. Had a nice run at blackjack and some not so modest losses at video poker... left with a lighter wallet and was back to the room and in bed by 1 AM!!!!!

Getting ready for our usual palapa which Patti set up a few minutes ago.... off to the beach!

We always found Matthews to be on the loud side. The noise from the bar crowd tends to fill the room. It was a favorite spot for a time but we had some serious service issues which caused us not to return. I think it’s about time to give them another try though.

Did Manchebo have their manager’s cocktail hour yesterday? I always enjoyed the vendors that came.

Too bad about the changes at the Glitz. I know that was your favorite spot. I think a lot of casinos are reducing the number of tables in favor of more slot machines as they are more profitable. While Alhambra was never our first choice, it was always too smoky, I did do the best there with at least one hand pay each trip in recent years.

I really needed this trip report! I can't wait for my next trip in the fall and I even have a room booked for fall 2022.

On my last trip I went to MJ on the last night. I've always wanted to try that coconut cake but I asked if the portions were large and the waitress said yes it is so opted out. $15 and I would not be able to take it to the room since I was leaving the next day, don''t usually have breakfast on day of trip. etc.

    Have a great trip!

one of the complaints that I have with the Glitz is the poor air-conditioning.
I asked about it and one of the pit bosses told me it is set on 76.
76 is too warm in a place full of warm bodies.

Nuthin'.... it is an occasional sand blast day.... but no lack of winds which is what we'd normally expect.

Sooooo a very disconcerting thing happened at lunch today.... a couple announced their engagement! Great for them.... for me, maybe not so much! After Patti got thru with all her awww's about the engagement she started talking about 'maybe another ring' for our 20th anniversary this summer! And this was totally outta the blue.....! Logic didn't work reminding her she already had two rings.... one of which we got here just 3 years ago....!

Diamonds are a girl's best friend is the new mantra.... Dinner tonight at Texas de Brazil is only a short walk from where we got her last ring! I'm guessing we all know the outcome here......

    Maybe I've been set up.....!

Yup, but very low attendance and only 4 vendors. Patti passed cuz she would feel guilty not buying something from someone!

You have to apply the spousal logic. Two rings vs. ten fingers...toes next

We go to Mathew's quite often for happy hour and an occasional dinner, but we avoid Tuesday, as rib night is always busy.
