Yesterday was kind of a rinse, lather repeat day.... all day on the beach and lunch at Pega Pega but Patti suggested Ricardo's at the last minute... maybe another day since it's a real effort for me to walk all that soft sand. We did treat Patti to an 80 minute at Spa del Sol.... and she came back kinda fluid.... loved it.

Walked over to Water's Edge for an early dinner. Bad timing.... we were bombarded by flies.... so much so that Patti's hands were a blur waving them away as soon as the food came. They were able to move us to the bar under a fan and that took care of the fly problem. We were comped coffee for Patti and dessert for me and were hugely apologetic for the problem and we just took it all in stride not having the leisurely dinner we wanted. Food was good and it was quite slow with 7 or 8 servers waiting for customers.

Off to the casino for a blood bath...... just couldn't get anywhere at blackjack or video poker..... back to the room by 11 and directly into bed.

Off to the lobby for our ATA recognition and then to the beach. It's quite windy this morning and some clouds looking like they are storing water for us!!!

The fly thing seems to be part of the early dining theme. We like to dine early and had that issue a few times. We tend to go for the indoor dining now.

Make sure to get a newspaper in a couple of days to see your picture.

Flies were an issue for us at Screaming Eagle. They came with Stu's fish and left when he was done. I was still eating, but they didn't bother me. I know someone who had an issue with flies at another restaurant this year, too. It seems unusual.

You are so lucky on the video poker....I have never hit 4 of a kind. Sounds like another great day.

After the beach yesterday we got ready for dinner at Texas de Brazil and Patti got ready in record time so we got to the area about 20 minutes early. That was enough time for Patti to get into Casablanca and look at rings..... try on rings and select a ring! Oh yeah, and for me to pay for it. The ring was ready to pick up after dinner so she was a happy girl! Dinner was dependably enjoyable with good food and exceptional service. They actually accepted the veterans notification on my MA drivers license for a 20% heros discount! That helped a lot with the bill! Reading their main website it notes that discounts are valid in the states only.... so that was a win!

After dinner a walk thru the Hyatt casino, lobby and grounds for old times sake. The Hyatt was where we stayed for out first visit! We walked along the beach and up thru the Hilton grounds and just enjoyed the lobby for a bit then made reservations for the Sunset Grille for out traditional last night dinner. Texas de Brazil had done away with the huge flaming torches and the Hyatt eliminated them as well. Dunno when this all happened.... but it's a good move for the environment and the gas bill for these guys. We took the taxi back to Alhambra so I could show my girl my playground as she had never been in before.... she just doesn't enjoy all the sensory stuff involved with a casino. A quick stop at the market for a bottle of wine.... and back to Manchebo!

Off to Alhambra for me where I grabbed a good spot at a blackjack table and enjoyed some modest wins til I hit a big losing streak. Off to video poker and played for a while before hitting 4 deuces for $1000.....! Was gonna go home but it was still early so I played some more blackjack with decent results and then video poker with not so good results..... left a bit heavier in the wallet and was back and in bed by 1 am. I haven't closed the casino yet this trip!

OK... so now it's beach time....and a thank you to Andrea for posting a photo of Patti's new ring!
