May 8 Wed
Another glorious day in paradise……..And a few hours at the Ritz.
Peg and Tom reserved an awesome cabana and we joined them for a few hours.
It included , 4 lounges, a bed…maybe queen size and a refrigerator full of goodies.
We hung with them for what we thought was a couple of hours, but it was really lots longer.
We took a dip in the pool and a longer dip in the ocean.
Loved every second.
Pam and Walt came by and we enjoyed our little pow wow group of 6.
We had some good laughs.
The Ritz staff was kind and accommodating.
Thank you Peg and Tom!
PS I got fried……my nose is a burned mess and my lips too are killing me.
I was very negligent in the application of my spf 50 today.
We had dinner in. Ribs and salad.
Casino play………$100 each lost in 15 min at the Ritz, then we moved on to Alhambra and the same bad luck hit. I have a few non printable words for casinos.
Aside from the Ritz cabana with friends, the next best part of the day was ice cream at the Marriott.
Almost bedtime.
It was a fun day.
Andrea, I too was negligent with the sunscreen! Last night at dinner I was freezing but the wine seemed to help. Will be more cautious today for sure!! That Aruba Aloe after sun works well.
Three different accidents all at the roundabouts? Wonder if that could serve as a sign that they do not need so many roundabouts? I'm not too certain if the billboard out in Noord with the traffic fatality numbers is still there, but judging from that board Aruba has more road fatalities than they do murders. And I thought my country had some insane crazy drivers.
Sounds like the trip is going pretty good, how much longer do you have on your stay?? Enjoy!!
LOL Steerage!!! I am behind reading the trip report due to AP testing at school this week. We are so excited to read all the posts today. Thanks so much guys. We were shy meeting up the first years, but boy do you get some real Aruba insight meeting these forum member Pro's in person. Great eating and drinking tips that are just too long too post.

Tentative entry into rotaries.... remember playing jump rope as a kid ?
2 kids would be swinging the rope? One kid standing outside the jumping area trying to find that perfect opportunity/opening to jump in? That is the way I see many entering the rotary.
Andrea, it sounds like you and Paul are having a great time. I love getting together with other forum members. It's been so great, having so many trip reports to read every morning. I'm curious about the drive from Alhambra. I assume that you are turning in at Costa Linda and driving through the little one way area, over to the casino. With the main intersection closed in front of Alhambra, how are you getting back to your hotel?
Here is how we get to the Alhambra.... coming in from the road that the hospital and doctor offices on ( the right are doctor office and golf course on the left) we make a turn north at the major mess where they are constructing the roundabout. We then head north for about 50 yaards and then cross the median turn left and then in 50 yd turn right into the main area for divi and cdm and abc manchebo and bucuti. It is complicated.
