    Thursday Thanksgiving Day

I figure everyone is enjoying their turkey about now. I hope you are enjoying your day as much as we are!!! Started the day with my coconut French toast yum, still no cinnamon rolls in sight. I’m getting worried!

It has been a beach and relax day but we just got back to the room not wanting to overdo it. Tom had a massage at the spa and he says it does wonders for his back and legs. I just stayed on the beach. Thought I would spend some time in the pool for a bit BUT just after I got in a really large iguana that had been lazing by the pool got up and left behind a really large poop!!!! So.... no longer interested in the pool, I went back to the beach. I did notice later they were sanitizing the whole area. What can you do!!

Lunch was snacks at Pega Pega. It was kind of quiet. Guess everyone is saving their appetite for Thanksgiving dinner.

We have reservations at the Chophouse because you can order off the regular menu. I guess you can also get the buffet if you want. Tom definitely does not but I may just check it out.

    Friday Day 4
Wow how is it possible we are already on day 4. Dinner last night was great at the Chophouse. After we just sat out on the patio and to bed early.

We’re up pretty early 6:30 and I notice more than ever the number of people putting their towels out. Decided to grab one before heading to breakfast and since there has been discussion lately about favorite spots I thought I would let you know someone had beat me to it. Sigh! No problem though I grabbed the one next to it. Then I hear Joelsef calling out. He’s the beach guy. He says “I thought you wanted this one” well I say it’s taken and he responds “Yes, it’s yours” as he had set it up for us. It’s going to be a good day!!!

Beach guys rock. It's awesome that you're getting such great service. What did you have at Chophouse?

Dinner for both of us was the choice filet mignon. I added bordelaise sauce. Red bliss mashed and cauliflower augratin. Piano player adding soft music to the ambiance and a tiramisu to end the meal. Delicious!! Chophouse was filled to capacity at 6:30! I think most ordered off the menu but you did have the option of going to the buffet set up at Ike’s and bringing your plates back. That just didn’t appeal to us. Ike’s was packed as well.

We’re headed up to the Ritz after about 4 hours on the beach. Figure we can go to the Divi bar or Madero for a bite and then hit the casino. Hope the luck holds out!!

This morning, like every morning was at Ike’s but took a different approach and went with the buffet, no scrambled eggs for me!! It was deviled eggs, cuts and cheese and sausage and fruit and a gigantic croissant with mango jam. They’ve changed their pastry choices up, no cinnamon rolls but some really fancy pastries. (Maybe left over from Thanksgiving menu?). No complaints from me I out that croissant on a short run through the toaster and it was like it was fresh from the bakery.

Sounds great and $500-goes a long way toward everything.

So, we ended up at Twist of Flavor. We had been there a few times and it was always okay but never wowed but today was a pleasant surprise. I’ll do a review in culinary.

Now you know it wouldn’t be right to take the Alhambra shuttle and not make a visit to the casino so we were obligated to go in. I always find Alhambra way too smoky but if you visit late afternoon it’s not as bad. They do have the Jackpot Inferno machines that I love and no longer can find in Vegas and I did pretty well on those. Plus I just have to play 88 Fortunes. They have some new machines I hadn’t noticed before like Ted and Zorro machines but I’m saving those for another visit. Don’t want to overdo it and get bored!!! Anyhow after a short profitable visit I left $500 up. Very pleased with myself for being disciplined and taking the money and running.

I'm thinking they need that for the seagulls at the Jersey shore areas.
