Hi B. You do have to pay. They have half of their inventory allotted for same day rentals ($10) - for those you go to towel hut anytime after 7 am and choose an available one and it’s yours for the day. The other half are allowed to be reserved for up to 3 days in advance and cost $25-30 depending on location. We have been getting a nice 3rd row palapa for $10. There are open huts in the middle and the back all day long this week.

Do you own at Ocean Club? I always thought if you owned there, the palapas were free, at least that has been my experience.

We do not own here, we are renting from an owner. I believe the fee applies to both members and guests, but I could be mistaken.

The weather continues to be perfect since Monday. We haven’t been doing much other than sunning and napping. The news earlier in the week dampened our moods and I still don’t have my full energy back from Covid. But we are still enjoying ourselves and getting some much needed rest and relaxation…

Wednesday we walked down to Dushi Bagel for another one of my favorite meals - their salmon bagel sandwich. It was so good and hubs enjoyed his breakfast combo as well. We had a couple of mimosas to wash it down before heading back to OC. We were disappointed to see that Kouzinas is no longer serving breakfast. We both love the breakfast sandwich there. Hopefully it will be back for our May trip. We hung in the water for a long time this day and just had snacks for lunch. Plus several Brights of course. For dinner we had reservations at Atardi with friends from h9me who are also staying here this week. We met up in the lobby bar at Stellaris for a pre-dinner cocktail $80 for 4 drinks before tip. Dinner was amazing as always and our friends enjoyed it (I’m always nervous when introducing others to a new restaurant). We shared a couple appetizers, guys both had short ribs, I had sea bass and P had lobster. We also shared desserts and had couple bottles of wine. I was so happy to see my favorite wine from our region on their menu. (Dr. Frank). Service was great and timed perfectly. We went to Moomba for a nightcap. It was so very slow, only a handful of others there.

we had breakfast in the room yesterday and decided to park at the pool for the day. We decided to head down to Zeerovers for lunch. It was getting late, around 1:30 and the line was very very long. We waited for about 20 minutes without much progress at all. The man ahead of us went up to ask what the wait time was and was told at least 45 mins to get a table after ordering food. We figured we wouldn’t be sitting down to eat until after 3, and decided to give up. I was really craving it but will have to wait til next trip and we will have to make an early start of it. We decided to head to the Fish House behind the airport. The place was dead with only one other couple finishing up as we arrived. I had fish tacos (very good) and hubs had fish and chips. It was mahi and he was hoping for grouper but he thought it was alright. My mojito was probably the best I’ve ever had. Back to OC for more pool time. We meandered over to the beach to watch the sunset and have a bday toast to Walt

Ugh. I lost the end of my post. I’m heading to beach now and will recap later with today’s adventures.

    thanks!!

the lines at Zeerovers amaze me.
it was a twice and done for us

agree with you, it is kind of nerve wracking recommending a restaurant and then being fearful that the place will disappoint.
glad that Atardi lived up to the expectations!

    enjoy every moment and thanks

Prices are up on everything. Drinks, restaurants snd grocery items. I get it, they have to cover their losses. I really can’t get over how painfully slow the bars and restaurants are. Other than Passions and Atardi, we have been the only ones in several establishments. It’s sad really and I hope they can all come back.
