Revive or resuscitate is reanimate in Dutch. Hence the poor translation.

sometimes/often times the translation is quite off.
You are probably right. I used to write our school's handbook and would use a translation program to translate it to Spanish, then give it to one of our Spanish speaking teachers to correct.

I was up before my alarm and was out the door by 8:30 for a quick trip to Lings. I had planned another stop, but there was an accident in front of the store and a police car was blocking the entrance parking area. I will go tomorrow since I have to try again to find diet Coke-I could not find any 2 liter bottles this week. I had a few things to do and Stu was working, but around 11:30 we headed to San Nicolas for lunch. We went through town and they are really set up for Carnival. The tents are up as are the port-a-potties at almost every individual tent. Chairs are in place and tied down. I am guessing they went up last week. Friends were downtown over the weekend and the fencing was up already. I think there was a parade or event on Saturday.

We had never been to O'Neils-we tried twice, but once they were closed since it was a Monday and on Flag and Anthem Day they just had a buffet. Over the weekend, Stu suggested we go. Stu had jerk chicken and I had chicken schnitzel. We opted to just get plantains rather than all the sides that normally come with our meals. The food was very good and the service wasn't bad-our server had a lot of tables and was really moving. Stu finished his, but I brought half of mine back. There were only a few tables seated when we arrived, but the place quickly filled up. We stopped at Nicolaas Store for some ice cream on our way back to the car at the bus station.

Stu wanted beer(hence the reason to go to lunch out there)we so stopped at PriceSmart on the way-he loves that they have Moosehead there. We were there around 1:30 and I have never seen it so quiet. We crept back through town(Watty Vos was backed up into the roundabout at the airport, so I was staying away-no idea why) with two ships in today. Hung out in the condo and dozed off in the afternoon.

Made a quick dinner and then decided to give the car a bath. Hubby is working tonight.

Wednesday. I went in search of diet Coke(Coke Zero or Lite). I ended up with small bottles. There wasn't any diet type Coke or Dr. Pepper in 2 lt bottles at any of the stores and very little in cans(and expensive). I wonder if the groups for Carnival have been stocking up for their bars. Since I was in DoIt and SuperFoods, I looked for new pots that are induction pots. You can read about that in Our Condo.

In the afternoon I went for a mani and pedi at Citro. They do have the area for the new pool blocked off with plywood walls.

Dinner was at Water's Edge with Diane and Tom. It was wonderful to get together with them and to get caught up. The food was good, but the company was better.

FYI-Worldle(not Wordle) had Aruba as its country , however; it really had the "neighbors" wrong. Yes, it had Columbia and Venezuela, but also PR, DR, and Haiti and instead of Curacao, it was the Dutch Netherlands and no picture to go with it. When it came to the capital, it just went to blank page.

Today: Lazy start. I finally got out of the condo around 11 and went to Lucky Superstore. A friend was looking for some chair clips, so I thought I'd stop there and look for them. No luck at Lucky. The next stop was at Kohler just to check out what they have and get some info for down the road.

Came back and texted with younger son. He is so excited about his new job. He said in the two nights he worked, they "legit saved three lives" and it is a good feeling. I am so happy for him. He does realize it isn't always going to go that way.

After lunch we spent the afternoon at the pool. It was very busy. It was very windy and usually when it is windy, people who don't want to be sandblasted on the beach head back to the pool. Spent about half the time catching up with friends. The water in the pool was so nice and warm.

Robin, check with Pizza Bob's, I know they sell cans of Diet Coke and when I ordered my food I bought several cans to tide me over for the time I was there in Aruba, it worked out great. You could probably stop in there and buy them or purchase them with an order be it a salad, etc.

Most of what they have here is Coke Zero, but the past week it is difficult to find. Balashi makes or bottles it, so I'm not sure what is going on. There have been dry spells in the past, but not for a few years. In fact, most diet-like Dr. Pepper is out of stock, too. I currently have enough for about 2 weeks. Thanks for the tips.

This morning I took friends to CMart. They wanted to get some stuff for their condo and were very happy with what they found. I think that they have lowered some of their food/liquor prices. I picked up a 12pk of Coke Zero cans which was less expensive than DoIt or Superfood. I came back and then went to DoIt and Casa looking for additional induction pots and was back by noon.

Today is a another friend's bday and she didn't really want celebrate. He husband was supposed to be here, but he is having some medical issues and the doctor said he needs to stay close to home. She is going home on Sunday to go to the doctor with him. Four of us surprised her and (her sister who is visiting) with a cake and her favorite Vodka. We spent the afternoon there mostly telling stories and laughing and laughing. My sides hurt from laughing at one point.

The four of us came back here and made plans for their final week here the week of the 20th. They headed back to their house around 5 and we just hung out and heated up a meal I froze.

I ran into that problem last April and really dislike Coke Zero, when we were back in August we had no issues getting it. Funny, I like diet coke so much I would consider packing it and praying nothing exploded, lol.
