Today Stu pretty much took off from work because it is a holiday in the US. We headed out to Kamini's for lunch. We headed through town and even with two ships in, it wasn't bad. Kamini's was busy-both tourists and locals as many things are still closed today. We shared a plate of funchi fries, then Stu had the dark chicken curry with roti. I had the chicken sate with bami. Everything was so very good as was the service. I took half of mine home, but Stu finished everything. There was a line of people waiting for tables when we left, including one cute dog who they apparently had chased out at least once.

We decided to drive down to Baby Beach since we have not been down there in 2 years. The road has become rougher than we remember. There seems to still be some construction as you get close to Rogers/Baby Beach. There seems to be nothing happening at the Secrets construction site. There is steel up, but there was no equipment on the site. Baby Beach was packed. We just drove through and then went out the backway and saw where the pet cemetery is located. It is much bigger than I thought. We had never driven back there. Drove through the old homes. It must have been so nice in its heyday.

We stopped at the new C-Mart on the way back. It is large and clean. The bakery looked good too. However, the prices seemed high. I will have to compare to see if I am right when I go shopping tomorrow. We were hoping there was something different, but we didn't see anything we wanted to buy and headed home. The good thing I found out is they do have Apple products.

We got home late afternoon and I just did some stuff in the condo and spent some time clean up some things on my computer. I'm looking at a new Kindle. Since we have been here, I have had to shut it down twice to reset it. If it keeps happening, I get a new one when we get home.

Since the chicken I took out for dinner did not defrost, Stu had a sandwich and I still haven't eaten because I am not hungry yet.

On one of our earliest trips we did a taxi tour of the island that took us by the pet cemetery. I asked him to stop so I could take some pictures. It’s such a beautiful area and I was so surprised at the number of pets buried there.

Today was another boring day. I found that grocery shopping on Tuesday is much quieter than on Monday. I really started looking at the prices and realize things have really gone up since last winter.CMart's prices were a bit higher than the stores near here, but not as high as I thought. However, I found something I have never found here-turkey pepperoni. I picked up two pouches which should last till we go home. Even though I didn't need much, I still had to go to Lings, DoIt and SuperFoods to get everything. I headed home and unloaded, ate a late breakfast and went back out to Win Tung and had to wait for someone to leave to get a parking spot. Stopped at Romar but didn't buy anything as they have removed all the price tags because of the increase in the BBO(tax) that increased from 6% to 7%. The other stores were working on changing their price tags, too.

Spent some time by myself at the pool reading, came up prepped and cooked dinner. Stu is working tonight, and I am just going to get some stuff done here.

It's tight parking at Win Tung but I do like that store for household items. What does the BBO tax mean for store prices?
I do see a jump in prices just since I was here in October.

My gas and electric bill was 50% higher than last month with the exact same usage as last year at this time. We expected an increase.... but I needed help carrying this one from the mailbox!

Yup...increase in fuel costs, employee pay increases, etc all lead to increased consumer prices. Robin where did you find the turkey pepperoni.

Lings. It's the Hormel turkey pepperoni. I was happy and surprised. We don't eat pork.
