Happy (belated) birthday! I hope the fun, smiles and laughter continue throughout the whole week. (but then again....you are in Aruba..so that should be easy). I'm loving your trip report.

Thanks for the BD wishes! I have been enjoying everyone's trip reports on here for the last few years - I feel like I know you all I've always enjoyed reading what others post and getting some great info. I thought I would do a trip report this round and post some pics.

We had our Covid test done today at a lab here in Santa Cruz, PCR $80, should receive the results via email today. It was a pretty easy process and the lab staff was very informative and friendly.

After that we went to the Purely Aruban Artwork store at La Cabana Beach Resort. Peg, I purchased a Djucu key chain, was excited to find one! Andrea, I purchased a window box with what looks like Eagle Beach in the window - it's inside a house, very cool looking - loved those! Great ideas ladies and thank you for suggesting those!

I also purchased 2 hand painted ocean and beach scenes in a frame for family. Not sure of the artist, the gentleman that rang me up put those inside bubble wrap and paper for the trip back with the artist card. Also purchased a pair of earrings and a necklace by Joshua and Yadira. He gave me 5 Christmas ornaments as a thank you - that was very sweet of him.

Just returned to the house, getting ready to get in some pool time.

When you described the artwork of eagle beach "in the house", I'm going to take a guess that you purchased photography by Carmen Mesa. I love her 3D photography. She takes photographs of traditional homes and architecture throughout Aruba and then positions it in a frame in front of a photograph of Aruba's beaches or natural landscapes. She creates cut-outs in the windows or doors of the house so that you can see the nature scene through the openings in the house. I have one of her frames sitting on my desk (so looking at it as I'm writing this).
If anyone wants to review Carmen's bio and artwork, here is more information: https://madeinaruba.art/portfolio-item/carmen-mesa/

Glad you got your djucu! I always have it with me when I go to the casino and it definitely has brought me some luck!

I believe that it is Carmen's shadowbox, I just looked at her info on the link Chris, thanks for sharing that. She's very creative for sure and her pieces at the store were ALL amazing, it was difficult trying to choose one. Once I get home and can unwrap everything I'll take pics of that and the other pieces I purchased.
