Happy Anniversary, Tracey and Jon!! Too bad about the SNUBA, but so glad you liked Atardi (they make great Cosmos too).

    Wednesday relaxing day

Thanks so much for the anniversary wishes. We had a relaxing day at De Palm Island. We have done this before, about 6 or 7 years ago, but since they added cabanas we wanted to try it out. As some background, we've done cabana days from a cruise ship in the past, and while always a bit pricey, we enjoy the privacy and service. This cabana was no different, except for the lack of quality/selection of drinks available. We did have a bottle of Prosecco and orange juice waiting in our fridge which was nice. I will do a separate review with more descriptions later. The island was not very busy, but I'm guessing that will change once the construction of the upgraded waterpark is finished.

We planned on snorkeling but our neighbors came back and said it was really rough and they felt like they were getting beat up, so we skipped it. The cabana includes a speaker and it was funny listening to Christmas music while laying on the beach.

Breakfast and lunch were fine, nothing special but plenty of options. We did the buffet for both. I had fish, Jon had bbq chicken with salad and fresh steamed veggies.

After lunch it was more relaxation and a few dips in the water. A deck of cards or dominoes would have been perfect in the cabana, we will know for next time. Rather than deal with waiting on the bus process and all the stops we took a taxi back around 4.

We hit a fun end to the Nos Clubhuis happy hour. We didn't have dinner plans and were both pretty tired so we decided to go with Hadicurari based solely on location. I'd assume they only get business because of their location. Jon had the catch of the day, marinated shark, and he wasnt impressed. I had mahi mahi in a teriyaki sauce that I enjoyed. Service was pretty good, sunset view is awesome, food just okay. The sunset started off perfectly, but clouds on the horizon took away from the ending.

Off to the Marriott where we took a beating at roulette and slots. We never even got any hits to keep playing. It was a quick first round knock out, then back to the room for another early night. The days are starting to go by way too quickly!

Happy 9th Anniversary!!! We have spent a few anniversaries in Aruba, but this year it'll be Turks and Caicos.

We are considering that for our 10th, but most likely it will be back to Aruba.

I plan to check out your photos when we get home tonight. We always travel with Tom’s old IPad that doesn’t have the google photo app loaded.
