We planned to have a beach day on Sunday, and that's just what we did. We started the morning with strawberries and champagne on the balcony - the definition of perfection! We had small Brazilian beef filets and toast for breakfast. We got them from Superfoods, and they were so tender and good.
We had a nice spot on the beach but someone who.was changing resorts offered us their front row since their room was ready earlier than expected. I went for a walk up to the Marriott Stellaris casino to get in a football bet - a 6 game parlay taking a chance to win big (didnt win). While I was there I turned $20 into $300 in a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. Jon was waiting for me at the beach so I took the winnings and ran! And ran right into a downpour, I mean a drenching rain. It was not a fun walk back. I felt like the walkways were too slippery so I walked along the water with rain pelting me in the face. Note to self, dont walk in November without a hat. Somehow the winning made the walk easier and it was all good. The sun made its way out and we ended up with a beautiful beach day, in and out of the water, lots of beers and laughs.
Those who have read my reports know that we love NFL football. We decided to wrap up the beach day around 230 and head to Carlitos. It was much different than Thursday. Every table was full. We lucked out and caught someone leaving just as we walked in so we had a table. We watched some games, had a few drinks and some wings. After the early games we came back to the room. The original plan was to rest a little and hit Moomba later, but rest a little turned into rest a lot..LOL. We cooked a pizza we bought from Superfood and relaxed. I feel like we are so boring! Jon said this morning it feels like we are sleeping so much - we both need it I guess.
Not sure what today will bring - looking forward to Local Store tonight.
It feels like the days are flying by.

Tracey - you must have needed to hang all your winnings from the Wheel of Fortune slot machine out to dry on a clothes line after you got back to your room!
I'm really enjoying your trip report. :-)
Something about Aruba makes you able to get some really needed zzz's
Enjoy it. Your body is telling you its what you need
Today was a day of island travels, and went tip to tip and all through the middle. The island is so green, and there are bodies of water where have never seen bodies of water. I tried to get a few pictures but not sure it came through. We haven't been to the Gold Mine ruins in a while so I wanted to go there. The road seems more rocky than previous years. We had a great time on the ride. We tried to find the Blackstone Beach and I think we were close, but we weren't prepared for a walk in the midday sun so we didn't quite make it. We thought about snorkeling at Arashi but the drop off seemed kind of steep. When a younger fit person struggles, I dont stand a chance. I wanted to go to Baby Beach and Jon wanted to go to Rum Reef so we headed south. Rum Reef makes a great pina cold with a twist. The funchi fries and grilled grouper sandwiches were good. The people using the pool said it was cold, so we just enjoyed the view. Baby Beach looked kind of busy so we skipped it. We headed over to Rodgers to explore. It was empty. I got some pictures of old boats, which I love.
We headed back to the high rise area and spent the afternoon at the pool. We lucked out and got an open table. Playa Linda is blocking off every other palapa by the pool. We enjoyed the quite of the adult pool but also enjoyed the family pool. We had a few Miami vices.
The evening was spent with great company at the Local Store. Jon doesn't say much, and goes along with my craziness. He wasn't thrilled at first when I told him about the meet up but he told me later he had a great time and he was glad we went.
We went back to the balcony for a few night caps. We settled in watching Monday Night Football and called it a night. What a fun day!! The link to my pictures is in my signature.
We found out the gift basket was from the owners of the unit we rented from.
