Feel better! That's definitely not the way that you want to spend your vacation.

I think a visit to urgent care is on the agenda tomorrow. This will be our 3rd year in a row that we have had to visit and I’m thankful it’s a short walk away.

We have plans with friends the next 2 nights and I really don’t want to cancel. I rescheduled a Wilhelmina for Saturday for our final dinner.

Did not end up going to urgent care as I was feeling a little bit better yesterday. I took it easy all day and didn’t eat or drink. It was very hot without a cloud in the sky. We floated a bit but mostly just rested in the shade as I really wanted to make it to dinner with Claudia. We did end up meeting at Casa Tua at 7. The place was packed and very very windy. I ordered vodka penne which was delicious but I couldn’t eat much. Hubs had the chicken parm and said it was great. Claudia had some kind of a mushroom pizza which she tried to get me to share. It was tempting but I didn’t want to risk upsetting my tummy more. We stayed and chatted for quite a long time since the crowd had died down so we weren’t occupying a needed table. Called it a night around 9:30 and headed straight back to the room. I think I was asleep by 10. Got up early this am for a chickee. More rest in the agenda today. We did go out front to Dushi and I had eggs and toast. So far, so good....

Glad to hear you are feeling better! Best medicine is vegetating under a palapa on a tropical beach all day!
How is the weather/wind today? I have friends arriving today for their first visit to Aruba. I reminded them to pack their beach towel clips and be prepared to rise early!!

Sitting in the crying room. Arrived at 12 for our 3:25 flight. We’re at the gate area before 1. Not bad.

Friday we spent the entire day either floating or resting resting in the shade, except to play Bingo which neither of us won. I was feeling a little better this day and decided to try to make a dent in our supply of Brights since a full case hadn’t been touched in 3 days. All good. For dinner we went to Chalet Suisse with our friends from Playa Linda. Our first time here and we loved it. I had a special of grouper medallions stuffed with crab meat and covered in this fantastic orange- caper sauce ( sounds wierd but it was to die for!). It was served with little potatoes and a medley of veggies. First time I’ve ever completely cleared my plate. Also had French onion soup which was perfect. Hubs had the lobster bisque which was filled with big chunks of tender sweet lobster, and a perfectly seasoned ribeye (w baked potato and creamed spinach). Our friend had the same as us except a Caesar salad in place of lobster bisque. They had manhattans which they swore were perfectly made and hubs and I shared a nice bottle of wine. Service was impeccable. We will return.

Saturday was our last full day and another day of doing next to nothing on the beach. We went out front to Dushi Bagel for breakfast which was fine. Headed down to Holiday Inn to shop a bit. They have nice stores there. Stopped and visited with Walt and Pam on our way. When we returned, we just grabbed an order of fries from Kouzinas to hold us over til dinner. Their fries are delicious and portion size is huge. We both ended up stuffed. Floated some more until it was time to go around and say goodbye to all of our PL friends. It’s so nice to see the same people year after year. Several of us stay in touch throughout the year. Others we just catch up when we are here. A couple of long timers sold their units this year and won’t be returning so that good bye was a bit emotional. It will be sad not to see them next year but we will keep in touch.

Dinner was at Wilhelmina. All I can say is wow! It was a perfect end to our vacation ( well, almost perfect, as there was a large group of extremely loud rude visitors that completely took away from the romantic atmosphere). We ignored them, well, maybe a disgusted look from time to time, as all the other guests were doing the same. They couldn’t give 2 cents as they continued to literally yell and scream at the top of their lungs for the entire time. I do think the restaurant should have addressed it, but I understand that was probably close to a $2k check that they didn’t want to upset. Anyway, aside from them - we loved it. Sat in the courtyard and it was such a wonderful setting. Started with an amuse bouche of a taste of sweet potato soup and a small bitterballen with some delicious sauce on it. The watermelon mint drink that I had was so delicious and hubs had something with fruit and bourbon that had him feeling pretty good by the time he finished. Lol. He again has lobster bisque. It was a huge bowl and very creamy. We shared it. He had short rib as his entree and I had escargot, shrimp and sea bass. For dessert we shared the lemon tart. Service was attentive but intentionally paced to be leisurely. It was pricey but worth it. It was 10 pm by the time we got back to PL, so we skipped the nightcap and called it a night.

Up early to oack this am the we went to Salt and Pepper with Walt n Pam for our final breakfast. Perfect end to our trip with good friends! Bully picked us up for airport, and here we are ... crying. Lol.
