I think we should guess what happened! I say they got to the Boardwalk and the hotel had lost their reservation, so the Ritz came to the rescue.

Sorry for the long wait for the 1st addition to the travel report life got in the way of reporting yesterday. What a great day 1. We had our direct flight on jet blue that landed 45 minutes early!!! What a nice way to start the trip. Our bags were ready by the time we made it thru customs. There was a long customs line as we were towards the back of the plane but it only took us 15 min or so to weave thru the line.

We got to the Ocean club and our room was not ready and said they would call us when it was ready. We were having so much fun we did not even check in to our hotel room till 6pm or so despite the room being ready for hours. We did what we typically do and thats head to the Ritz for lunch and to relax...thats were things got really, really interesting.

We grabbed lunch at madero and it was excellent as always. After lunch we continued with our day drinking...its a new sport for me, lol. Day drinking turned into night drinking and an early night to bed but not before things went crazy. So we are hanging out at the Ritz and Sgt Peppers rescue was putting on a show at the Ritz. They had many dogs that they were showing off hoping some crazy person would adopt one. Well after many drinks and a lot of begging from my son, I think we are going home with Ruby! Her actually current same is dottie as she is white with little black dots.....but I like the name Ruby and I think we are going with that. The dog is adorable, I am such a sucker.

Last night we dined at the Divi lounge right at the Ritz. The good and drinks we excellent.

I am typing this message from the balcony of the Ocean Club. We have a 1br oceanfront villa and I have to say its wonderful. The room is HUGE and the balcony is big enough to live on by itself. The grounds are nice, large pool area. Speaking of the pool area there are tons of spots available right now. The view of the ocean from my balcony is outstanding....I would certainly stay here again. We are checking out at 11am and heading back to the Boardwalk.

yes it is...but it got me a great night sleep as there are only so many hours I can drink in a row, lol. I am even at the casino because I never made it to one last night.

Ruby is 9 weeks old and very cute. Getting her back to MA should be an adventure but it sounds like they do this all the time and it should go smoothly. I have filled out our application to adopt and they are waiting for our vet to fill out a form indicating we are "fit" parents. If all goes smoothly we will be taking Ruby home in a weeks time. We will be checking out of the ocean club soon but will probably just put our stuff in storage and relax on the beach till our room is ready over at the Boardwalk.

So exciting to get a new pup! I hope the one you have at home will be happy. You have to post a picture of Rudy.

Day drinking is very relaxing. Great for napping by the pool or on the beach. Night drinking is great and helps you to get to sleep.

Is Ruby small enough to go in a carrier under the seat?

    Sgt Peppers is very reputable.
