Be safe and sorry we didn't cross paths.

Today was a hard day for so many reasons....leaving always stinks. But flying home today was beyond bad!!!!! Woke up to see a cancelation for our flight which made my heart sink...then I saw us assigned to a similar flight. Our check in took 1.5 hours but not bad overall. When things really turned south was about 45 min into our flight that was suppose to be "clear sailing for the most part" We heard a HUGE bang then the airplane dropped and was as out of control as Ive ever seen a plane. It was rocking left and right uncontrollably for what seemed like an eternity but was probably only 2 min long. I went from swearing to praying for our lives- seriously! This was not air turbulence I honestly think an engine blew! The pilot and crew were under control and I took it better than my wife but we were scared as heck. It made the kid kicking me every 10 min not so bad...or the kid in front of us projectile vomiting not bad....or the child across from our row screaming all flight! We landed about 45 min late as they flew slower after our issue for sure.

Wow! Would love to know what happened?

We were traveling to Aruba a few years ago, on the first leg of a Delta Flight, when we lost one engine. Protocol demanded that we land at the nearest airport. We were diverted to Nashville, as they didn't want to make it to our destination, which was Atlanta. We had to stay overnight and fly out the next morning.

My feeling is the pilot or crew should have addressed the issue. At least try to bring some calm to the passengers. Glad you had a safe landing for sure!!

Wait they never explained what happened???? If it was that dramatic they usually make an announcement to keep passengers informed. I would have needed a Valium lol. I have a major fear of turbulence. Sorry this happened but glad all ended well.

I’m not a great flyer. I’m going to pretend I didn’t read that.
