Welcome home Jay. It is so concerning about the airport situation and you traveled on a Wednesday. But I do think August is a very busy time in Aruba with last trips before kids go back to school. We won’t have global entry for September but will definitely get it before next international trip.

Jay we had a similar airport experience when we left on a Tue in July.... just wait wait wait and it took forever. At least Patti only had one kid to look out for (me)..... you had CJ and Cuz Josh..... boys that age are a handful. Glad you did finally get home OK!

Hmm, now I'm going to worry about tomorrow. This will be my 4th time leaving on a Friday and have never had any problem. But jay, I don't understand how u got in the airport four hours ahead. I thought they wouldn't let you in if your flight isn't departing within three hours

The whole airport thing is one giant mess. Too many flights scheduled at similar times and mostly in the afternoon. Seems like those who fly out in the morning for a connecting flight perhaps do much better. The direct flights of 3+ hours seem to all depart between 2 and 3:30pm thus causing complete chaos!

We fly the Delta jFK-AUA flight. Leaving New York at 8:10 am, we arrive in Aruba somewhere between 12:30 and 1pm. The return flight leaves Aruba at 2:15 pm and arrives JFK around 7:30 pm. It’s the same flight attendants on both flights. I figure the time between flights is their break before continuing their work day. That’s probably why so many of these 3+ hour nonstops leave between 2 and 3 pm. The round trip gets the crew home without an overnight stay.
Hopefully the Aruba airport expansion will open things up and alleviate the crowds. Until then we’re going to have to pack our patience! In my opinion any trip to Aruba is still worth the hassle!

That's the exact same flight I always take. We'll see what tomorrow brings...I'm trying really hard not to worry about it. Even in the past when I left on a Saturday I've never missed my flight.

We leave Philly at 8 something AM-it varies from year to year and when we land, there are always 3-4 flights within 20 minutes. It's the same going home.

We got the green entry and that was anytime from 1130 am-1pm....It makes no sense with our flight at 3:55.
