    Trip Report 9/11-10/1/22

Up at 1:30 to catch the 3AM bus to Logan. Flight was fine. I took the 7 AM JetBlue direct from Boston. Breezed through immigration and made a beeline to duty free. They asked for my boarding pass when I bought my salted caramel Baileys. I get it, but I don’t recall them doing that in the past. No stopping at customs… I know that’s been on and off since 2020.

Jay’s picked me up and I got my rental car. Headed right to Divi. I was early but my room was ready. Yay! But the system was down so I couldn’t pay or get my keys. Boo! I ended up getting into my room about 2:30, so I missed Ling & Sons (they close at 3 on Sunday). Headed to Super Food and got most of what I wanted. I’ll go to Ling in the morning.

There was a decent breeze today. Yay again! Went up to Twist of Flavors for dinner. I think it was Lisa who mentioned the creamy garlic mushrooms, so I gave them a shot. O M G they were so good. Creamy, cheesy, garlicky goodness with mushrooms. I also ordered the grouper sandwich, but really if I go again I’m asking for two dinner rolls and those shrooms. I needed the bread to sop up the sauce after I polished off the mushrooms. The sandwich was good. It was lightly breaded and fried, very crispy, and served on a roll with lettuce and some tartar sauce on the side. I brought half the sandwich and all the fries home.

The girl who checked me in is taking me to Palo Marga Saturday!! Biggest Yay!!!

When I left Super Food, a cop cut in front of me as I entered the rotary. He blocked off the inner lane so I was forced to head (north I think) to the new rotary. Went around that one and headed back towards Divi. Every rotary had a cop blocking the lanes like when I left SF. I have no idea what was going on. Maybe I’ll find out tomorrow. It was odd, and my ice cream got really melty, but no biggie. TTFN

The rotaries were blocked to allow an ambulance to get a little girl to the hospital more quickly.

Got Up at 6:30 this morning and was at Ling and Sons when they opened at 7:30 to pick up a few things I missed at super food. I came back and made four dozen Jell-O and pudding shots and checked into work. Thank goodness there are no emergencies lol. So I quickly put that laptop back in the safe.

I headed to the airport to pick up Marsha and Susan who were flying in from Charlotte. Got them back here to the Divi and then went down to the pool for a few hours. Our other friends, Cindy and Steve, arrived today as well. I went up to the Plaza and had dinner at fusion tonight. I had the prosciutto and cheese platter. It had crostini, A small baguette, some prosciutto, salami, a hunk of blue cheese a hunk of peppercorn cheese and a hunk of a mild soft cheese. There was also some dried fruit, nuts, and some olives. I ate most of that with a Diet Coke. But I was sitting right in front of the smoke machine and got to watch the bartender make a smoked old-fashioned.

There are three or four chickens and roosters running around on this property. I can personally vouch that they actually crow loudly when the sun comes up ha ha ha. It’s about 830 and I am back in my room for the night I think.
