Trip report 9/22-10/5

Jet Blue direct from Boston on Sunday morning. The flight was fine except for a few spots of heavy turbulence which the pilot handled very well. The other passengers not so much. I swear as soon as they say the captain has turned on the seatbelt sign, please stay in your seats, at least ten people get up to pee.

I bought this thing because of my back I need to keep my feet up a bit. As long as you don’t fidget or pull down on it you won’t annoy the person in front of you. I love it.

Friends With whom I’m sharing a car picked me up at the airport and we scooted off to Jay’s so I could sign the additional driver paper and then headed to Divi Village in a torrential downpour. But two hours later by the time I settled into my room the sun was back out.

Went to Ling & Sons and evening though they are remodeling I found everything I needed except Cool Whip which I found at Super Food. Exhausted Sunday night so I stayed in and had a sandwich. I was going to go to Pizza Bob but they were closed since the rain flooded their kitchen.

Monday morning I had a nice relaxing massage at Spa Del Sol then spent the day at the pool. Went to happy hour at the beach bar and then 6 of us went up to Smokey Joe’s for dinner. We all had ribs and were happy with our meals.

Tuesday was a pool day for me. Three of us went to Bingo’s for dinner that night. I used to there until Barney’s opened up and it was nice to go back again after all these years. The inside where the AC is is also the smoking area so keep that in mind. I had fried Camembert and a dish that had salmon, shrimp, and snapper. It was delicious. My friends each had a meal that came with a small steak and a small piece of chicken breast and they were very satisfied as well.

By Wednesday I was feeling exhausted so I spent most of the day by the swimming pool and for dinner I made myself some shrimp ceviche and stayed in and watched my TV shows.

Pictures will be shared when I get back home. I have a hard time doing the photos on my phone, plus I took a lot of pictures with my regular camera so I need to load them onto my laptop. Will try to update again later

Forgot to add that I finally went to Bright Bakery on Wednesday morning. My friend and I each got a couple of different things to try and I’ll admit everything I bought was delicious. We also dropped off some school and other supplies at Bucuti resort for the Children’s Home Imeldahof ‘pack for a purpose’ program. Each of us brought a couple of things and ended up with a nice donation.

Car sharing is working out perfectly so far. I've only needed it once and other times we've gone to the same place so we just took turns driving

Thanks for the trip report, it really brightens my day to know at least someone is on the Island enjoying themselves.

How was the Divi beach bar? We thoroughly enjoyed it when we were there in March/April. I was worried because I really liked the old second floor bar's view, but they did a really nice job with the new one.
