We had a very relaxing trip this year. Spend most of the time in the water and on the beach all day. We like to read so we both enjoyed some new books. The weather was perfect as usual but we did have rain one day for a few hours but not bad enough to spoil the day at the beach. The palapa situation has not changed at the Playa Linda so we were good with that.
We dined at some new restaurants and visited some of our favorites. We were disappointed Wacky Wahoo was closed for vacation. This is the very first year we have not been able to go there. We tried the Craft which has many craft beers. It is in conjuction with Lola’s and they serve the mexican food. The tacos were very good. We tried the Melt Away which hubby was not a big fan of but it still was good. The fondue was tasty and we had a charcuterie board. I think it was just not enough substantial food for hubby. You never know until you try it. Chalet Suisse was new for us and I loved it. We will return for sure. I had the Schnitzel with a delicious mushroom sauce. Al had the other veal dish which he enjoyed. It was served with a wine sauce and served with spaetzli. I know there have been many reviews regarding The Oak but this is one of our favorites. This is the second time for us and it was every bit as good as the first time. We eat inside and the service has been top notch and the food is really wonderful. Our filets were cooked to perfection. I tried the white sangria with fresh fruit and Al had a passion fruit martini. We always have dessert there which consists of chocolate brownie dessert with whipped cream and ice cream and I have the carmel coconut flan. They treated everyone who dined with a shot of Lemoncello which I love. We met one of the owners, July (Julie) she is just delightful and had quite a nice conversation with her. They have sold their share in Ricardo’s and are just concentrating on this venue. It is much better for them as a family to have a restaurant that only serves dinner. Casa Tua is nice for pizza so we usually go there. We had not been to Gianni’s for a few years so we had their veal parmesan and it was very good. We are going to try Hostario da Vittorio next year now that we know where it is. Azzurro is always good for Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The atmosphere is nice and no reservation was needed. There are lots of new restaurants on Palm Beach this year. Salt and Pepper is always a good place to eat so that was a favorite as well. So next year we will try some.
We both had some issues with our ears from flying when we arrived. Al had to go to the little clinic in the Cove plaza. He saw Dr. Martinez whom I have seen in the past and really liked. He had an ear infection. My ears were somewhat clogged but I it did not ruin my vacation. We met some more new people and that is always fun.
Another fantastic two weeks and it just goes so fast. I look forward to next year as all of us do.
Thank you for listening to my story.
