Another relaxing day. Slept in and mostly hung in our "little yard". We took a walk along the boardwalk down to the HI and back and then had lunch at Bugaloe then back to our yard. Dinner was at Barefoot at 6:00. We left here at 530 and everything was closed downtown even though there were two ships in. Much to our surprise traffic slowed closer to Barefoot. There is a huge stage at Surfside with live music. Getting in was tricky because of the amount of adults, kids and cars. Dinner was wonderful as always. Once the sunset, we could see fireworks going off in different areas on the island. We headed back to the Riu and are just hanging out until the festivities begin later, but there are some people setting off fireworks on the beach.

    Happy New Year Everyone!

NYE-You could hear fireworks all night. Our neighbor said that the HI starts around 11 and he was right. Around 11:10 we headed out to the beach with two plastic chairs that came with the unit. The beach was beginning to fill with guests and locals and we plopped our selves near Bugaloe so we could see north. Just at midnight the sky lit up in all directions. The fireworks we saw on the little barges at lunch launched right next to us. We've never been so close to them before. There was a guy from Canada right behind us who turned 60 on New Years Day and was so happy to usher in his birthday this way. The barges next to us went off for about 10 minutes and others continued for awhile, stopped and then started again in different area-I'm guessing late or individuals just setting them off. Our condo is promised to the former owners for two more years over NYE, but after that we will back for NYE. Love it! Ill upload some pictures later. We are having an electrical issue in the unit and guy just showed up to fix it.

Since we are still waiting for our electrical issue to be fixed, here are some photos from last night. Pictures do not do justice to what we saw. For some reason all the pictures are stuck together.

We had a late start to the day. Stu has been having a runny nose for the past few days but only in the unit. He feels fine outside of it. It is musty in here, so we have been keeping the window or door open as much as possible. We had an electrical issue in the bathroom-the vanity lights would not turn on. They turned off the power to the bathroom and hallway to work on it and then left to get what they needed. Once they were finally done around 1130, we headed out to a palapa Stu had gotten before the electrical issue. While sitting there, somebody just unlatched our gate and started to walk off with one of the chairs. Stu stopped him. Later, we left for lunch (ate at Gilligan's at the Hilton)and came back to find that one of the palapa chairs that had a towel one it was gone. Luckily, they gave us another towel without any issues. They said that it happens all the time. We know where the chair went because we could see the drag marks. Stupid. Hung out on the beach until 4 and then cleaned up for dinner. I had made reservations for Azia for 630, but it never went through, so we headed out to Blossoms instead. We both loved it there and will try to get back again before we leave. Fireworks are still going off tonight from different directions. We are just going to hang out in the unit tonight. I'm really tired.

Those fire works look awesome. I know my friend Christy from MVC posted on Face Book that they were spectacular than any other year. Glad you were there to enjoy..Happy New Year. Amazing with the palapas and chairs. Some people just don't have good manners.
