Tuesday was another beach day. There was almost no breeze, and felt intensely hot. We ended up coming inside a little earlier than usual, to cool off. We had dinner at Barefoot. We had planned on walking, but we were tired of dealing with the heat, so we grabbed a taxi. The ride probably only took about 5 minutes. We sat in our usual spot on the sand. The temperature had cooled some by then, and a light breeze was blowing, so it turned out to be a nice evening. The sunset was the best we had all week. I had my usual, caribbean grouper. Hubby decided to try it, and liked it as well. We later shared the grand dessert, which is a sampler of different desserts that they serve. It was a lovely evening.
We came back to Renn. a little early to skype with our daughter and watch the election coverage. We fell asleep around midnight, but left the tv on in the bedroom, with the sound off, so that we could monitor it during the night. We both woke up around 4:30 and were shocked to see Trump's name announced as the winner on the tv screen. We finally fell back to sleep for a couple of hours.
Wednesday, we groggily made our way to the beach. We read and napped off and on for several hours. The breeze picked up for the first time, so it was nice and comfortable. We spent the day as we had the others, between the beach, lagoon, and pool. We decided late in the afternoon to go for a walk around town. We hadn't done that at all on this trip because of the lack of breezes. We walked around all of the shops, and were sad to see how empty most of them were, especially with two ships in town. We only made one small purchase and headed back to happy hour.
With no plans for dinner, we decided to go back to West Deck for another platter of balashi grouper fingers and fries. They were just as good as the ones that we had a few days ago. I got a mojito, but it was so full of mint that there was very little drink. I had one here in Feb. that was great, so that was disappointing. The food was great, and we were glad that we came back again for a second visit this week. I realized last night that I had eaten grouper four times this week, and pizza twice. I've started most mornings with pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks.
Today is our last day at Renn. We are moving to Costa Linda tomorrow. This is the second time that we have stayed at Renn. When we stayed here last Feb., we were up early every day, heading over to the private island. We would come back late in the day, shower, and head out for the evening. On this trip, we only went over to the island once. We've enjoyed camping out by the lagoon each day. We haven't had to get up as early as we did when going to the island, to claim our spot for the day. By being here at the resort, we've interacted more with the staff and other people. We've enjoyed this stay more.
