We went down to Baby Beach yesterday. We walked around where Tortuga bar used to be, it's a kite surfing school now, and picked up a couple of pieces of driftwood. Headed over to Rum Reef for a couple of drinks and then to Kamini's Kitchen for lunch. Kamini met us at the door and proceeded to chat with us. I mentioned the tables looked new, but she said she had them redone and there were pictures of the construction process on the table tops under urethane. She brought more pictures to our table and talked about the build. She then told us something we hadn't heard before, all of you guys in Maine check this out. Kamini is opening a restaurant in Portland, Maine this year! We talked about that and I told her I would stop by the next time my work takes me there. By this time our meals had appeared and we dug in. Pam had the roti chana-potato curry and I had the roti chicken curry. Both meals were delicious. Kamini gave us hugs as we left and we promised to return next trip. We really like Kamini's Kitchen and recommend it to everyone we meet. We got back with time to float in the ocean for a while before getting cleaned up and heading to Matthew's to meet friends from home that just got here for happy hour. Matthews was nice except it was Karaoke time and the lady behind the bar had an amplified microphone and insisted on yelling into it. It made conversation almost impossible, but we still had a good time. We got back to the Holiday Inn in time for the managers happy hour for premium elite guests. It was held in the courtyard and was a very nice experience. We learned some nice tips to make our return visit next year a nicer stay. Yes we will stay here again next year, we really enjoy our stays here. After that we went over to North End pub for a sandwich, this time we tried the chicken parm. It was good, we split the sandwich and fries and talked with an interesting fellow at the bar. A nightcap at Moomba and back to the room early. Woke up this morning to cloudy skies so we'll see what the day brings.

I wonder if the new restaurant in Portland will be called Kamini’s Kitchen? That’s a big leap having a restaurant in Aruba and the states.

The sun did indeed shine yesterday, but no sunset, the clouds/dust hid the sun around 6:00. A late breakfast at Dushi Bagels then we sat on the beach and floated in the sea of valium. We got out of the water and went over to Flip Flop bar for a happy hour drink and got back in the water. We got out again around 5 and I commented how the sun was holding it's own, but it just couldn't fight the haze. Dinner was at Casa Tua and drinks at Moomba while we watched the Celtics game. It's day 28 and our last full day. We're up a little early this morning. We have three must do things before we get back on the beach and in the water: stop by Superfoods for 2 liters of papaya hot sauce, gas the car and get our covid tests. We found out yesterday a friend we spent a lot of time with tested positive and is in quarantine, they were supposed to fly out today. their quarantine accommodations are a 3 bed 2 bath AirBnB with a pool. I will get more information as I talk to him today.

Your vacation has flown by! Sorry to hear your friend is in quarantine, hopefully it will only be for 5 days and, of course, hope your COVID tests are negative. Safe travels home!
