The beach is gorgeous and the hotel is spotless. We did not feel the service was so highly rated. What we found was, they have a monthly incentive for employees, based on nominations from guests. What happens is, some of the employees, really want the incentive so they give you their cards and press you to nominate them. Of course, there are other employees who are perfectly lovely and you can see they enjoy their work.

we have been handed "cards" by wait staff and hotel/resort workers and when they hand us those cards, they almost beg to have positive things written about them.
those cards give links to Tripadvisor and ask for glowing reviews.

in this day of social media and digital marketing i guess it is the norm

i do not like it..not one little bit.

that being said............ jacki and i can post our "moderator cards" so that you can post reviews to the appropriate people or venue

I won't ever write a review or nominate anyone for anything if I am asked to do so....I do reviews because I enjoy doing them and want people to know about how good or not good a place is.

Jay, I agree. A sure way to ensure I will not do a review is pressure me with a card!

I used to feel the same way about not reviewing if someone asked me to, but so often now people are handing them out it would really limit reviews, so I have eased up on that somewhat.

As for a nomination form for an employee, they do have to go above and beyond for me to do that, regardless of if I know about the incentive or not. It also depends of it is someone I would tip. My reward for them is usually jist a better tip.
We had really good service at Elements at Bucuti, I felt it was timed just right. No one we dealt with in the restaurant areas gave these cards.
The resort and beach are beautiful, but it seems a little too on the fancy side for us. Everything was so quiet the few times we walked through the beach area.

I fly a bit. Being a member of American's frequent flyer program, you receive "Above and Beyond" cards to fill out in your membership info package. I usually give one out every flight for exceptional service. I have great respect and appreciation for flight attendants and believe me they appreciate being acknowledged. I'll also give a Starbucks gift card every now and then. That said, the service industry folks that solicit my reviews will almost never get one. If you provide service I deem to be above average, my tip will reflect it, and quite possibly I'll post a positive review here and on other websites.
