I just called to reserve two hotel rooms and was told that was not a benfit for timeshare owners anymore. You only get your timeshare unit and no hotel units. Anyone else know what is going on.
Thank you,
Debbie

can you contact customer service/vacation club for "another opinion"?
sometimes different employees have different answers.
I called back again and did get another person who said there was a note in my file about the hotel rooms I had requested.
the vacation units can be exchanged, if the hotel has the rooms available.. which is not always the case.
I was asking for July and they said they could not even look because there is not trading anymore. Please someone call and see if they get the same answers I did.
The 1800 number on my card and the deed is in my safe deposit box I hope.
That is correct! No more hotel rooms! We are no longer permitted to switch our units for hotel rooms, ever! I have been fighting with Occidental since August to verify this problem. I have 9 contracts and now we can only use our weeks in timeshare units. No more splitting. Also, we can only use are accelerated weeks in the type of unit we own. We can also no longer take our 2 bedroom and exchange it for a one bedroom and a hotel room. If we take the one bedroom downgrade, that's it.
I have been saying for over two years that we need to form an owner's association. I will be in Aruba in Jan/Feb for 8 weeks. I will walk the beach every day to get names and email addresses to start something going. However, I am not internet savy (websites, forums, etc) so I will need some help. It seems every year Occidental takes something else away from owners.
